Really great examples of a Trumpanzee attacking a Scientist for the sake of his monkey arguments.

We all know crowds spread Covid. Fauci is trying not to be politicised into a race argument.

This is porn for whites looking to hate on blacks. Those blacks knew what they were risking, the real story is that they think their lives are so shit they risked it.

Interesting take on the conversation, the way I saw it was like this.

We know crowds contribute to the spread, the government has enforced closures to places of work, worship, education and recreation to protect the population from the virus.

Yet for all the noise of a fascist government coming down hard on peaceful protesters the very fact they are allowed to happen disproves that belief. If it was true surely the protests wouldn't exist due to all the under cover feds chucking everyone into unmarked vans and making them disappear, yet apparently so far no one has.

The question being asked was simply should people gathering in large numbers like a protest, be forced to stop, now fair enough it's not Fauci's job to make policy but he is one of the people that recommend closing down the schools etc so why is it so hard to recommend shutting down protest groups if it is in line with other recommendations made by him.

To me it becomes politicised when he won't back up is own recommendations made against other groups. Possibly for fear of being shouted down as a racist?

I've seen posts on here sparking up about when people started going to the beaches etc and how they fucking idiots and should be arrested, yet BLM and defund the police protests, which oddly seem to have way more non black (wankers with phones prove that.) than black protesters are acceptable.

You can't have it both ways, if protesting in large numbers without social distancing is OK with or without masks, then surely going to work or a church, mosque, synagogue or school must be as well. As far as I can tell stating all large gathering will not be tolerated and arrests of those attending will happen solves that problem.

What's that you say, orange man evil, fascist, racist if he shuts down innocent protests, don't worry he won't shut them down he's letting them happen because the more property and lives they destroy helps him get the vote of those that the protests are actually hurting.

Why should the public that are doing what is asked of them be put at risk by a person obviously giving all the advice re Covid the middle finger by going to a protest then rocking up at a supermarket.

I completely understand the frustration of someone who has to watch their livelihood go down the toilet, because opening will see them arrested or some out of control idiots decide to torch the building they work in after looting it.

That Republican congressman is a goon, nothing less. I have seen him questioning other people. If he is a rock star it says a lot about the GOP.

You didn't think that was a valid question, odd our very own worlds greatest leader thought the protesters here were selfish and shouldn't have gone to the rallies due to the risk, our very own deputy PM wanted them charged for breaking the Covid rules that were in place at the time or end the lockdown as we couldn't have it both ways. Oddly very similar position to the "goon".

No. It was a stupid question and as Fauci correctly said it was irrelevant. He was talking about masks and the wanker asked if he wanted to ban protests. Fauci had not mentioned protests, he was just talking about masks. Some of those GOP congressmen sound good but like the sound of their own voices. Their dumb voters will too, sadly.

Watch it again. The guy is Jim Jordan, he licks Trump's arse and Trump congratulated him for his questioning. Need I say more?
Yep, but only if it relates to the question about whether mass gatherings should be shutdown if they endanger the population, no matter what the reason.

Your choice of porn seems irrelevant.

There is a fascist culture driving the attack on a scientist, it is what all fascist societies do.
Faucci is renowned for being moderate in his comments on anything, I think personally that is is a flaw. He wont even berate the president for hosting Rallies which are worse than the protests for spread.

You do realise that these clips are used by many to discredit the Science of Covid?

I find it very distasteful and typical of why America is in the shit it is in.

I do not think the protests are any better than anyone else as far as stupid behaviour in a pandemic, however there are powerful justified reasons driving them, and that is a fact of life. Shit happens.

Melbourne going into hard lock down.

New Zealand can truly say they did the right thing at the outset. Aussie is slowly coming to that same place that lead this country to lock down.

They have plenty of resources including the scientist to lead their response, but it was always clear to me that they were trying to have their cake and eat it too and that eventually it would put them in the shit.

The lockdown is going to cost them a fortune. I doubt NZ could afford another one. All because they ignored warnings about employing muppets to guard quarantine hotels.

Personally, as an old bastard, I am glad they did. However there is a growing argument from qualified people that the cost of lock downs and travel bans is unsustainable and that we are depriving young people of an economic future. There is some strong leadership required here and it is sure missing in many countries.

Pretty hard to berate him for hosting rallies, since they haven't had any stadium rallies.

Rallies which are worse than the protests for spread.
Got any actual proof of that, I'd love to see the research document.

You do realise that these clips are used by many to discredit the Science of Covid?
You mean like the clip I posted of two licenced physicians discussing their concerns with some of the decisions being made by bureaucrats and politicians?

There is a clear consensus that the virus spreads faster in doors. I cant be bothered finding material.

Maybe look at the housing towers in Melbourn and the rationale for isolating people in that context. Pretty clear example.

Some think the only long term solution is managed herd immunity. Isolate the old and let the young catch it.

“The bottom line is that older people have got a lot to gain from lockdowns and a lot to lose from the infection. Young people have a lot to lose from lockdowns and not much to lose from the infection.”

"Our efforts should be directed towards protecting people who are at high risk."

Even with a vaccine, there are fears it may not be potent enough and not enough people will get it, meaning the vaccine may not be the perfect solution we all hope for. A combination of managed herd immunity and a vaccine may result in the best outcome.

Don't worry it's easy to find, and the consensus certainly seems to be indoors, at places like restaurants. I didn't actually see anything that said it can't be caught while out doors though.

Trump holds his rallies in stadiums not restaurants, but again the chances of getting infected at a protest is still greater than at a rally that didn't happen.

So does that mean masks and physical distancing isn't required as long as it's an outdoor protest, but are required at a political rally? Seems odd.

Unfortunately even with a 100% successful vaccine, we still have a world full of anti-vax nutjobs that currently are happy to risk their childs health due to an insane belief based on a long ago discredited document that vaccination is bad. Why will that opinion change for this new virus?
