General Cooper Vuna - A future fullback?

It seems most people on this forum want to see Webb in the 6 Jersey, if Webb does play 6, I think Cooper Vuna will become a perfect replacement.

He seems to play like a fullback whenever I see him, attacks the ball with pace and has a great step off both feat without losing speed. I think with his pace and stepping he could become a dangerous fullback. I was watching Inglis over the weekend and he reminded me of Cooper Vuna, running with pace and using a great step to beat players hands down.

I remember that try Vuna scored Vs the Raiders, he played a roaming fullback role and ran onto the ball with pace:

(imagine if he did that consistantly every week).

Never seen that before, thanks, its a mint try, I suppose we will never find out his talent at fullback until he actually plays there.

I've only counted five converts to that way of thinking, Mosh.
Are you adding your support?

Paddy Ah Van would be more reliable back there imo. Cooper has too many errors in his game from what I've seen, including that same game when he got snapped out of position at the back, threw it back in from going over the sideline to the opposition who scored. :p

While I'm curious to see how he would go at 6, is there much point in playing him there now it looks as though he won't be playing for the Warriors next year?

I'm hedging bets that Webb will be replaced by a specialist Aussie fullback such as McKinnon and they will persist with the halves combo currently playing. I'm hoping Hohaia makes a return to form though.

Webb's going....if he's got 5 UK super league clubs & 2 rugby union franchises chasing him, when he signs it will be for a fortune.
Can't see the Warriors retaining him with the salary commitments they have in place, plus they'll be a few blokes like Gatis looking for an upgrade. They just signed up Rovelli to an extension & it would be a significant increase I'm sure.

I would say yes is if he can turn this team around from a hot and cold outfit to one that was warm and building.

i reckon aye.
soon teams like the tigers or bulldogs are goin to have more kiwi players than we do. we always complain that these teams are "stealing" our talent, but we dont seem to give our talent a chance. instead we cross the tasman and see what we can find.

ppl keep saying that we are the nrl team and it doesnt matter what nationality the players are. it doesnt matter that the cap, coach, players playing in the "important positions" are all aussies...

honestly who gives two f**ks if the australia or nz...all i want is a sucessful warriors team to take to the finals. the could be russian or german for all i give a shiit

Yeah i think too many aussies stuffs our whole nz team spirt right out the window, but incase of webb who was born in auss anyway, i think we acutally might need someone with experience, be from england or australia. Micheal luck for example was an aussie we never needed & still don't especially when a nz bloke like george t is in barter cup.

luck carries on our fine tradition of signing a token no name aussie forward. luck joins stellar names such as jobson, morgan, and tookey so of course we need him.

i reckon it's a bit like when a sitcom has a token african american character, we have a token replacable aussie forward.

micheal luck is adaptable, he can play in the frontrow or the back row, i personally think we dont need him but he fits in with coach cleary's style. also the younger players like sonny fai for eg arent ready for 1st grade yet so they have bought a cheap and useful buy in luck so he will fill the gap until a youngin is ready for the jump.
BUT buying gatis imo was a complete waste of money. we are leaving someone like hohaia out of our team for a 28 yr old qld'er who has been far from spectacular for us

I'm starting to have a bad feeling about hohia, maybe there doing this cause they actually wanna release him. Theres something about this whole hohia thing that doesn't make sense.

I agree - Lance is being kept out in the cold. I notice he's not mentioned in the team to take on the Broncos. I hope his manager is looking at all his options. Real shame to see him go but he is obviously on someones hate list.

i remember the days the warriors didnt have a decent fullback and defense was crap, if webb goes we are in big trouble as there is NOBODY in the warriors camp who could do the job properly.
