We owe Penrith some serious come-uppance.

We cannot afford to keep losing games.

And it's time for our forwards to sort their shit out.
Against Manly, our numbers 8 - 17 averaged 58 metres each. Manly's 8 - 17 averaged 88 metres each. All referee issues, handling mistakes, poor half decisions aside - that is enough to lose right there.

Sadly, with Packer and Lousi injured again we are low on options. Big losses, as these guys are our largest prop and second rower respectively.

1 Locke (great game versus Manly)
2 Laumape
3 Hurrell
4 Nielsen
5 Vatuvei
6 Leuluai
7 Johnson
8 Matulino
9 Friend
10 Rapira
11 Mannering
12 The biggest / hardest running second rower we have who is not named Elijah Taylor
13 Lowrie

14 Matagi (into lock)
15 Gubb (Package if healthy)
16 Mateo (kick his ass with a bench start)
17 Lillyman

Sorry Peyroux, but I am sick of you being used for a few paltry minutes for minimal effect. Laumape and Hurrel pulled their act together against Manly and I will back them to play a whole game. We shouldn't need a babysitter on the bench when we are getting crushed in the forwards every week.

Also was tempted to chuck Leuluai at 9 and Godinet into the halves, as I think we need something slightly drastic to shake things up and get this team rolling before our season is over.

Palavi, Ikahihifo, Lousi (if healthy), Taukeiaho are all options for my 12 jersey.

Memo to Elliot: I think we'd be better off with 3 props on the field than with 3 small second rowers.

That's actually a pretty badass team. Epic backrow. Admittedly, Matagi and co may turn out to be shit in the backrow but hey our current backrow are pretty shit so what's to lose.

I'm going with operation fuck them up:

1. Locke
2. Laumape
3. Nielson
4. Hurrel
5. Vatuvei
6. Leuluai
7. Johnson
8. Rapira
9. Friend
10. Matulino
11. Lillyman
12. Mannering
13. Matagi

14. Gubb
15. Mateo
16. Ikahihifo
17. Godinet

Godinet to come on for Friend but play in the halves and switch Leuluai to hooker.

I expect ME to name an unchanged line-up.

But I would go with this

1 Locke
2 Konrad
3 Peyroux
4 Ngani
5 Manu
6 Leuluai
7 Johnson
8 Packer
9 Friend
10 Lillyman
11 Lousi
12 Mannering
13 Matagi (don't know if this is really an option, but others have suggested it)

14 Matulino
15 Gubb
16 Ikahihifo
17 Godinet

Wake up call for Mateo.
Risk it all.
Godinet, as suggested by others, to cover 6 while TL plays hooker.
Laumape at centre, Konrad to the wing.
I had considered the possibility of Peyroux at lock. Perhaps we will need to play Friend at lock at some stage to cover Matagi if he isn't capable of 80 minutes.
Lousi to stand all night and show Feleti a certain play called an offload.
I would also not be adverse to Johnson getting benched for a few minutes if he continues the horrible plays and kicks.

i like dans team, i have to admit im not convinced by matagi yet. he runs hard.. gets stopped pretty quick though. cant see him as a backrower atm but that may just be because hes been bashing the ball up as a prop and not really doing much else

edit: NQ could sneak into 8th on form, the hardest games they have left are sharks and knights who they could outmuscle. from here they could go to 28 points winning all 4 games

Today we were bummed by the refs. They tried to make it look otherwise with those piss poor late (2) penalties. After 7 to 2. But look they always protect Manly. We know that. Only Melbourne gets treated fair against Manly. But they won't dare do that on our home ground. So just shut the fuck up and beat Penrith.

Barring injuries it will bethe same team, in the backs were short on replacements.

Forwards I would suggest if packer is fit he should get a recall.

Silly errors and better use of bench required possibly godinet to come into te squd for peryroux who s getting minimal game time

Same team Im assuming with Elliotts deceptive mastery throwing opposition teams game plans out the window by naming Matulino to start then swapping him with Lillyman on the bench and having Hurrell play in different number, like 21 for arguments sake, so his opposing centre wont know its him.

Sorry, what I meant to say is I dont give 2 shits. Just win...

Are packer and lousi really unavailable? I was going to make wholesale changes to the forward pack, but that limits it.

Backs are the same.
8 Rapira
9 Friend
10 Matulino
11 Taylor
12 Mannering
13 Gubb/Ikahihifo

14 matagi
15 lillyman
16 ikahihifo/Gubb
17 Peyroux

Mateo gets a rest, has been laboring for a month.
Taylor plays on the edge, subbed by peyroux.
The usual 4 props, they just need to aim up. Packer to come in if fit.
Gubb/Ikahihifo, rotating at lock. They just have to bring some enthusiasm to the middle.

I'm not that against lowrie, i just think we need impact, you cant have taylor, friend, lowrie on the field at the same time, they are just too small...

If taylor does not impress against his new club, drop him when mateo comes back.

I'm picking the whole Vulcans team to play the panthers.

If the first grade boys want easy victories reserve grade is where they'll find em...

Russell Packer has damaged his hamstring again, playing for the Vulcans in their win over Canterbury in the NSW Cup yesterday.

The powerful prop hasn't played for the Warriors since getting just 13 minutes of action in the round 14 game against the Roosters in June.

He has been making his comeback in the reserve grade Vulcans side but yesterday had to come off in the 18th minute and wasn't able to return.

Vulcans coach Willie Swann said that as soon as Packer had a problem with his hamstring the decision was made to take him off as a precaution.
