General Change of Heart ???

Four rounds gone. Still 22 to go. On the basis that we now have a clean slate, and four points on the way through byes, I think we still are in with a good chance of making the play-offs. That in itself would be a huge achievement. I may be a tad optimistic in saying we'll make the four, but I reckon our chances have improved dramatically, after clearing away the 'cob-webs' so early in the comp. So where are you guys at, with regards to where we will finish.

Hmm...well any team in the comp can get into the top 8..then into the final 4 at any stage.

But yes, if the warriors continue to play thinking that they're on -2, or -4 points then yes they probably can.

i,m a bit more optimistic.
a lot hinges on the first half of the season, if we nail the first half (like we look to be doing) the 2nd will be a lot easier.

we would have been in the semis last season if we,d have won those critical early games.

the minus 4 made it that much harder but not impossible.

If they are good enough they'll be there @ end of 26 rounds. And if not, at least we know where they stand and where they can only get better

Ask me again in 4-5 rounds. Manly (H), Canberra (A), Souths (H), Dogs (H), Bye.

Out of those games Manly and the Dogs look the toughest, but if we're going to be a serious threat this year then we have to establish dominance at home no matter who the opposition is. If we fire consistently then there's no reason we can't go close to winning all those games.

The last 2 weeks games have been a lot more enjoyable that pretty much any in 04 and 05 so thats a good start... hopefully we can continue the consistancy as last year we lost like 8 games by 10 or under, we have to win those this year (First 2 rounds didn't help)

I rekon we'll just scrape into the top 8. I also predict roosters not to make the eight last year they we're missing the backs now they the're missing the forwards. Manly won running over them in the forwards so don't think we can't beat manly.

no change of heart at all. still don't think we will make the 8. next year will be our year to make the 8 again. the -4 points ruined what remote chances we had of making the eight. I hope the boyz prove me wrong though and make the 8

I reckon that the next 5 weeks are pretty critical and if we can get to the bye and drop one game i reckon we're well on our way. we need at least 12 from 20 (maybe 11) to make the 8 right now and I reckon it's achievable. It'll be an interesting run home too, Melbourne away, Rosters home Broncos Away. Hopefully we'll still be within striking distance....

Still can't believe I have to wait until Round 26 for a Live Warriors game. Maybe the Broncos can finish fourth and the Warriors push into fifth. That way first round of playoffs will be Broncos V Warriors at Suncorp. A guy can dream can't he?

well i reckon after the last 2 games ,,, yeah we can make it ...
over here in aussie , we have shortened dramaticlly in betting after 2 good wins ...we were 70-1 to win the premiership after we got beat by
parra....we 30-1 now lol

was it just me , or did for the first time in 2 years see some of the old
2002 2003 confidence and cockyness back in our play the past few games ...

, no one has mentioned siones hail mary
pass in the goal square with 6 to go ....2004 2005 that pass goes to ground newcastle player falls on it and scores and we lose , but call it luck or fate , or whatever , maybe the league gods are smiling on us again .. :lol:
so in my humble opinion ,

Would have been better if johns was playing to gauge any real progress.

Manly will be a very good test, BUT I have put the mockers on them by tipping the Warriors to win....

Im undecided, we havent beaten a team that is playing well yet. Hopefully these wins will get the confidence up and we can continue to improve.

Yeah the Warriors are heading for the top 8 thats for sure, a win this week could move us off the bottom of the table which aint bad considering we gave the others a 4 point headstart.

I know its said over and over again but its all about consistency, if we can get a roll on, grind out a win in the tight matches then i reckon by halfway through the season (round 13) we will already be in the 8.

Then hopefully from then on in anything could happen. We will just have to see but 2006 is looking bright for the Warriors
