General can aussie players in the english super league play S.O.O?

can aussie players in the english super league play State of origion? wasn't allan langer once chosen from super league to play state of origion? How come the aussies doesn't choose anyone from there like jamie lyon etc?

Basically I think it's just an unwritten rule that you need an Australian based in the NRL to be selected.

I think that they are probably allowed to play, but maybe the selectors don't see the sense in pulling Lyon out of his club to play a mid-week game because he could be fatigued or unready, or his club won't let him. Not sure though.

Like Mix said it's pretty much an unwritten rule that you give up SOO if you go to England. It's a way of discouraging players from leaving the NRL.

Seems like a pretty good deterrent, there are a lot of Kiwis in the ESL but much fewer Australian players.
