Benji Marshall is making a flying recovery from the shoulder surgery which kept him out of the Kiwis tour at the end of last year.

The young Wests Tigers standoff is back into training, after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction at the end of the NRL season.

He was not due to return to the field until at least the end of April, but Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell says he will be back in March.

McDonnell says Benji Marshall is well ahead of schedule at the moment, so he should be ok to play soon after the start of the new season.

The Wests Tigers are praising the work ethic of two of its top New Zealand league players with Dene Halatau, who also had a shoulder reconstruction, to return shortly after Marshall.

McDonnell says both players are putting a huge amount of effort into their recovery, working hard with the club's fulltime rehab specialist Andrew Leeds, the former Wallaby and league player.

encouraging to see benji making such good progress

Lets hope it doesn't get stuffed again, and we can show the Aussies the Tri Nations was no fluke.

He is expected back in 2nd or 3rd week right? Should be fine for Anzac.

That Anzac test could be one of the strongest Kiwi teams to ever grace the field in a while.

We've shown we can beat the auzzies and the britains..and the french without the likes of benji, sonny bill...etc so when/if they do play in the tri nats and anzac test...well rip 'em apart
