Benji Marshall is making a flying recovery from the shoulder surgery which kept him out of the Kiwis tour at the end of last year.
The young Wests Tigers standoff is back into training, after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction at the end of the NRL season.
He was not due to return to the field until at least the end of April, but Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell says he will be back in March.
McDonnell says Benji Marshall is well ahead of schedule at the moment, so he should be ok to play soon after the start of the new season.
The Wests Tigers are praising the work ethic of two of its top New Zealand league players with Dene Halatau, who also had a shoulder reconstruction, to return shortly after Marshall.
McDonnell says both players are putting a huge amount of effort into their recovery, working hard with the club's fulltime rehab specialist Andrew Leeds, the former Wallaby and league player.
