these are 2 areas that I think we are struggling with at the moment ball control and decision making.
in recent weeks when we have been hot on attack we have dropped the ball. often this is when we are hot attack and occurrs in the first few tackles of a set. this lets the pressure of opposition teams a lot. our players need to respect the ball more and know when to take the tackle. several times we make breaks and try and throw a miracle ball when it is not on. sure the players are human and will drop the ball but our players do it a lot more than most teams in the comp. this leads onto the next aread of decision making
nathan fien may not be an andrew johns but he has played state of origin and was an intergral part of the cowboys run to the semis for the first time. he just seems to be taking the wrong option on attack at the moment. in tonight game against the radiers he rarely if any times took the line on at all. he has become one dimesional a bit and seems to bomb away a lot. he is capable of doing other kicks or passing it he just seems like he is not quite there at the moment and takes the wrong option.
sione is also not making good decisions lately imo. maybe this is because he is being shifted around a lot i don't know but he seems to be flat. sione seems to have gone into his shell and seems to be content with just running the ball up and even worse trying to throw mircale balls that are not on. he is at his best when he take the oppposition on and creates either opportunies for himself or other like toopi etc. he is our most creative ball player and it seems like he has gone into his shell a lot recently. maybe being shifted around a lot is confusing him and he is unsure of what role he is to play in the team. it certianly is not good for them when bothe him and fien are lacking in the decision making area.
