Alright, I'm bored, only working part-time.

How about we create a pictorial history of every warriors jersey to this day?

I'm thinking I'll get the new CCC one, and pick up a 1995 original, cos there seems to be a lot of them around. Then I just gotta fill the gaps.

Did the Warriors ever wear the NSWRL patch on their Jersey?
According to Wikipedia the Warriors were never part of that league.
I have seen images of both the NSWRL patch and the ARL patch on the 1995 jersey.



Which one is correct?
I've only seen photographs from games with the ARL patch.
Why do jerseys with the NSWRL patch exist?



Here's an image from the first Warriors game in 1995, it's a Lenco jersey with the ARL patch:

Did the Warriors ever wear CCC jerseys at the time or did they just make replicas for sale?
All the game photos I've seen the players are wearing Lenco jerseys.

Yeah i have a 95 jersey. It has the NSWRL emblem on it. By the way, did you know Manoa Thompson is Jarrod Haynes dad?

So...not sure of the answer.

Thats very odd. An ex girlfriend of mine won it in an auction (presented to her by John Monie) and gave it to me a few years later.

i was only 5 at the time, but wouldnt have they have had the NSW patch on there in the 1994 season, with the un veiling of the team etc, then the patch changed in the 1995 season?

That's an excellent point. The NSWRL ones may in fact be even older than our foundation ones.

from the 5 pics posted in the first post, only one was an action pic, the rest were promo shots so maybe after the original team photos were taken they changed logo's

I've seen so many variations of the inaugural jersey now.
- CCC above NSWRL patch
- CCC below NSWRL patch
- CCC below ARL patch
- CCC center collar with ARL patch
- Lenco center collar with ARL patch
- Optus 'Yes' ARL patch with Lenco center collar

I've found some answers in an old Warriors book I found in the Wellington Library, "A New Breed Rising: The Warriors Winfield Cup Challenge" (See attached images).

I have only skimmed through it, but it looks like the Warriors club formed in 1993, the first jerseys they used for promotional stuff had CCC above the NSWRL logo.

For the Warriors debut game against the Broncos in 1995 the jerseys then had ARL patches, and I think CCC was in the center of the collar. All jerseys with NSWRL patches are from 1993 or 1994.

If I find some spare time I would like to create a website that documents the entire Warriors jersey history.

The Ngamu jersey is the correct one. The other shots you have there are promotional and are probably done in about 1994 to highlight the advent of the Warriors. The Gene Ngamu shot is a live shot, and my suspicion that its correct is the crowd behind him - looks quite large for anything other than a Winfield Cup match.
