Just a question.

I have been to most of the grounds in Sydney but never when the Warriors are playing. I am thinking of going over next year for a Warriors game. Which ground is the best option for a travelling Warriors supporter, especially being able to get a good spot with other Warriors fans?

Been to them all except Brookvale and the Warriors seats are usually in a pretty crap spot( back corner behind ingoal).
Easiest to get to are ANZ, Allianz and Parramatta(if the new stadium is done by then), with the rest a bit rural and a bit of a pain in the arse to get to.

Best seats I’ve liked is against the chooks at Allianz(between goal and 20m), outstanding atmosphere this year too.

Thanks for that. I figured Allianz might be good. Brookvale has a crap reputation anyway. Only Manly fans would want to go there.

Went to Leichardt a couple of years back and stood on the bank with some of "Sydney's finest" however the Mad Butcher had a group of around 100 people he had flown over with him and they all stood on the bank with us as well, we copped some outrageous abuse but the Warriors won!

The Irony of this threads Voting poll is it's relevance has been made redundant by our poor home form.

Why do we suck at home ?

It looks as though we take the foot off and go flat at the Mount.

Could be argued that it is a hang over and travel related if you subscribe to a lag theory.

Looking at our singular outstanding performance at home against the Dragons round 7 you could be tempted argue after having two weeks at home we were rested for it.

Not so. We had a continuous run at home which saw us go down to the Roosters three weeks later, and that followed a not too taxing win over the Tigers.

The only thing I can come up with is that the Warriors need adversity to fire them up and they need to be outside their comfort Zone.

Maybe next year they would get more wins if they held home games in other NZ centers ? (not going to happen).

You gotta wonder.

Maybe the team associates Mt Smart with being losers....who knows....fickle lot...

Heard the team stayed in a hotel before the Knights game to replicate an Away game.

Being at home the night before a match and spending the day with your family and friends away from the team might seem like a good place to be in theory but maybe it doesn't put this group of players in the mindset they need to be in to win?

Way too many variables with turnarounds and oppositions to know for sure either way, just glad we have started winning on the road. One away win last year was pitiful!

if you rocked up to an random warriors game in sydney how do you know where to go if you want to sit with warriors fans ?? or do you just abandon your seat and go find them. I always see our guys together on the telly but always wondered how they are all in the same spot.

Some sites will have a dedicated ‘away supporters’ section when you purchase the tickets otherwise usually away members will get comms on where the away seats are

Brookvales location reminds me a bit of Mt Smart. Crappy industrial type area. And the parking cops are off their heads.

Allianz is good, a touch sterile maybe but there is Fox Studios there with a Bavarian Beer Cafe for a good beer and schnitty.

ANZ is dead. Too big. Small crowds. No atmosphere.

Canberra is cold AF mostly and a fairly dead town. It’s not even the king of porn anymore. Just learn to private browse and you’re sweet.

Melbourne is cool. Great precinct. Close to the city. My fear for them is once Smiff goes and they suck, I don’t know if their crowds survive.

I haven’t been to Newie. But their crowds for a team that is generally ordinary is great.

Want to go to Wollongong. Looks like a great stadium and location. The view there looks terrific.

Cronulla is an average stadium. Bogan fans everywhere.

Campbelltown is a good atmosphere. For bogan territory.

When you buy tickets, it'll usually tell you the Opposition/Away bays.

For example for this week :

Wollongong is a great venue unfortunately it’s probably the worst spot of them all for away fans, you have your back to the ocean view and are literally in your own little pokey stand that’s seperate from the others in a pretty shit viewing spot (bay 13 in the below image)

Warriors membership team should be able to help.

Warriors fans are always squashed in the corner by the try line

Been to quite a few games in Aussie but only seen the Warriors play away a couple of times.

Always a weird feeling when they score having a dead quiet stadium with only a couple of Kiwis cheering.

Do you reckon any All Blacks supporters will kick on for the Warriors game at ANZ on Sunday arvo ?

The Bledisloe is at ANZ on Saturday night...
Union toffs wouldn’t want to be seen at a RL game, let alone Warriors game

I know a few coming over because of the fact that it’s a double header, I’m going to the Warriors game but got put off by the price of going to the ABs game as well (about 3x the price of the Warriors game).
The Sydney afl derby next door was the other factor as transport and food/Drink lines sound like a nightmare on the Saturday.
The All Blacks supporters club in Sydney are at the same venue as Warriors Nation (palace hotel) and actually invited the Warriors Nation and it’s a nice expats community and you will see many of the same people at both the clubs events- doesn’t have to be one or the other

I think there is a history of All Black fans going to Warriors games after a rugby test. I remember way back when the Wests were Magpies a whole heap of AB supporters went out to Campbelltown to watch the Warriors, and that was when the All Blacks played at Allianz.
I haven’t been to Newie. But their crowds for a team that is generally ordinary is great.
Newcastle is great. A great little city and they love their league. I have never been there when the Warriors play though. Actually it is my favourite ground in NSW. One reason I thought I would like Allianz is the lack of Roosters supporters. I went there once to watch the Knights play the Roosters and you would have thought it was a Knights home game. I think I recall Frank Endacott saying Jubilee Oval was the most aggro for local fan support he had experienced.

It sounds like the best Kiwi support is at either Brisbane or the Good Coast, but I want to go to Sydney although I might consider a drive up to Newcastle.
