General ASOTASI NAMED TO TAKE ON BRONCOS

Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes has named prop Roy Asotasi on the interchange bench for Friday's Preliminary Final against the Broncos at Aussie Stadium.

Asotasi and Reni Maitua were cleared to play by a knee specialist today. Asotasi has been out with injury since Round 24 when the 'Dogs lost 30-0 against the Broncos while Maitua suffered a knee injury in Round 26 against Penrith.

Folkes has opted to go with Maitua in the centres at the expense of young Ben Roberts.

Asotasi still isn't confirmed. The final call will be made on Thursday.

Its bascilly confirmed. He said yesterday he is confident..the medical staff is confident..he just gotta go see the specialist..which he has..so all is looking good!!..lets just wrap him in bubble wrap till thursday!!

It's looking pretty good for Roy, to be sure, but his spot in the side isn't guaranteed. It depends on a fitness test on Thursday, as Esoj said.

Asotasi, Maitua Back For The Dogs

Bulldogs prop Roy Asotasi has passed his final fitness test and is a certain starter for Friday night's NRL preliminary final against Brisbane at Aussie Stadium.

Asotasi has not played since the Round 24 30-0 loss to the Broncos when he injured the medial ligament in his knee.

The Kiwi international was cleared by his specialist on Tuesday and will resume playing off the bench for the Bulldogs.

Utility Reni Maitua will also make his comeback for the Bulldogs, he also completed the Dogs' final training session on Thursday morning.
