Some clown has gone all around Mount Maunganui painting over all Te Reo on the brand new rubbish bins. Probably about 20 of them.

Is it suspicious that it’s in Acts colours? Seems a political statement - but the paint looks like yellow road paint and might be hard to get off!

Definately don’t condone this. I have no problem with Te Reo alongside English as equal. I do have a problem when govt departments are only in Te Reo and you can’t understand who your supposed to contact.

The small parties can basically promise anything they like, knowing full well that they will never have to deliver on it.
Your describing NZ first there.

It’s no wonder Winston got upset with Tame. Journalists should know minor parties don’t need costings.

Winston couldn't handle that interview. It was so obvious he was not a patch on his once slippery self. He mind is nowhere near as sharp as it was even a few years ago. He couldn't deflect the questions and resorted to smiling at the camera but the charm has gone. Fidgeting as well.
How anyone can see any substance in him anymore is beyond me.
He would have forgotten any promises he made yesterday.

The thing is - that sort of performance does capture swing voters - especially those disillusioned by National & Labour.
Also seems to be chewing into the Act vote substantially.

He's definitely getting back into Parliament & bring some interesting characters back.

I hope you are wrong, no good for the Country.
With any luck enough of his supporters will become confused at the ballot box and tick the wrong square, any square will do.

I wonder if this could end up backfiring on Labour..... vote Winnie back in and it will be a "Coalition of Chaos".

The choice then for those who may have wanted this government out but to avoid a CoC is then to not vote for Winnie but turn to either National or Act. Voting for another minor party like TOP won't help because that would still mean National and Act to form a government once the proportion of votes for those parties in Parliament kick in.

Remember how National campaigned during the last election against the dangers of having the Greens too strong. That backfired on them in the provinces where they lost a number of "blue seats" where people decided to vote Labour to keep the Green influence in government lower and lead to what has effectively been the first FPP government in the MMP era.

This may not have been the best election strategy by Labour.

So the Maori party claims about racial targeting of their candidate were a beat up… (or the police is corrupt):

Police in their statement: “Police do not believe that the incidents have been racially motivated or coordinated.” Will the Maori party apologise to the parties they accused of racism and race baiting?

Also:
- an election hoarding was stolen from the property on September 25 “but note this is in the context of several other hoardings in the area, from a range of political parties, being damaged or defaced”. 🙄
- Police also said the incident had been incorrectly described as a ram raid and it should be more correctly referred to as a theft. 🙄 The Maori party described stealing the election hoarding as a home invasion 🤪
- “Police have followed up on reports of a suspicious vehicle, however, at this stage we do not believe this vehicle is linked to any intentions at the property” 🙄
- Police responded to the report of an alleged burglary and threatening note by saying “these reports have been investigated and police have been unable to establish any criminality, although enquiries are ongoing” 🙄

Just more political theatre and misinformation for political purposes… except they divisively pulled the racism card 🤦‍♂️

What's the point of the minor party debate when two of the 4 have most of the votes.

Would it not be better to have TPM, NZ First, TOP and someone else?
