Sorry didn't watch because we have no coverage on this side of the Tasman. But as long as he's performing well then great!!

Very interesting. I was just about to stand corrected, as I don't consider Hohaia to be a very strong standoff, but I do rate him as a halfback. Did you see the game, missing teeth? How did he play? And points worth noting?

Remember hohaia played in the bulldogs game and he had no Class whatsoever. He had in chances in nrl and hasn't made an impact.

bartercard cup is way lower standard of play than the NRL. bartercard cup players always miss too many tackles sumthing u won't see in the nrl.

lance played great on monday night when he was running the ball but his kicking game wasnt really on.. sam rapira also played a great game making plenty of metres and getting good offloads away, but they didnt make a huge impact until lusi sione, vince whare and jonny limmer were all out injured and we had a one man bench for 45 minutes! If it wasnt for scotty hurrell it would have been a major upset!!

Hohaia has no long kicking game, so when we are up the creek, he does not provide an option to get out of it.

Lance has had his moments in the sun and he did not take those opportunies, otherwise the warriors would not be chasing halves and hookers.

What position did he play in the Bulldogs match? He was a backup hooker, not a half, as this topic is discussing. I don't see him as a solution to our standoff issues, but I think he's an effective halfback.

Incidentally, I'm surprised that you're saying Hohaia hasn't made an impact in the NRL. I think you need to watch seasons 2002 and 2003 again. His form was incredible, especially during the former.

I dont care what position hohaia plays I just think he has enough talent to be kept in the team. I dont know why cleary keeps dropping him all the time. He has done the job before and doesn't do that much wrong to warrant getting dropped all the time. Look at Sione, the guy is so inconsistent, brain explosion faumuina. He doesnt get dropped.

I definitely care about which position he plays in. That can be the make or break for every player.

I don't feel he got dropped last week. I felt Gatis got promoted. There is a difference.

And that might be why Faumuina hasn't been replaced - there isn't anyone playing at a lower level who is pushing hard enough to take that spot. Having said that, I don't think Faumuina has been that bad - I think he's a lot better now than he has been previously; a lot more composed.

Just seen some highlight replays of the Newcastle and Roosters from last year, both won by the Warriors - Hohaia played 6 & 9 respectively. Had 2 tries against the Roosters and set up another. Also set up a try in the Newcastle game.

This year Fien backfired at halfback, switched to hooker and never got the humpty dump despite average to below average performances at 7

Faumauina No 6 - whose brain explosion was that? Still playing apart from suspension.

Hohaia, an average start in the first 2 games of the season - banished to Barter Cup. So when does he get the opportunity to impress with more game time and play his way into form?. Obviously from the trend of some posts, Barter Cup is not the answer because even my aunty could excel playing at that level.

And oh by the way, they were looking for size at 5/8 at the beginning of the year - so how sizeable is Witt - are we seeing yet another U turn?

As I said before the Club is grooming Hohaia to leave. The question is, is it because of his ability or politics within the organisation.

Quite frankly I don't give a continental whether he goes or stays because he will find something somewhere and get good coin - all I want to see is that everyone in the squad is treated equally, whether it be Tuakura, Byrne, Vatuvei whoever and be given the same opportunity as others who have been a bit up and down.

I thought Lance Hohaia had a really quite 1st half. The Bulls are definitely a tough team! Waicoa had some really bad defence early in the 1st half and handling skills from that young winger who I thought blew them some tussel challenges on the score board.

Lance's kicking game was not pin point but was decent enough for his outside backs to chase - it wasnt until the 2nd half where we saw more of himself running the ball and producing some constructive plays with Sam Rapira who was definitely the strongest Forward for the Waicoa Stallions.

Out of 10 I'd rate him an 8 out of 10 based on that performance. Its pretty hard to get that sorta rating when your playing against the Canterbury Bulls who are 1 of the best bartercard teams going around!

even though i would love see to ivan cleary trial hohaia in the halves, right now isnt the time. everytime cleary set a new halves combo he is rolling the dice and he has rolled the dice too many times this season. with us "sort of" in top 8 contention it is a bit risky.

i say once we are 100% totally out of the running for the top 8, lance hohaia MUST be in the halves. michael witt might be on his way over, but it's always good to have depth in your team.

Any of the Warriors players would carve up in the Bartercard Cup, it's such a poor quality competition. I can no longer stand to watch it anymore it is that bad.

Absoloutly, once we are "mathematictly" out of top 8 contention i NEVER want to see Ropati in the halves again, EVER. I can't believe Ropati has kept his spot infront of Hohaia, what a joke. He can't kick, pass or defend well. All he's good for is a good run now & again which is what a centre is. Hohaia HAS to have a chance in the halves if we can't make it, what will have to lose, we can't become wooden spooners. For gods sake it'll be petition time if he doesn't get a go at 6 OR 7, people say(including myself) hes not a 5/8, well lets find out for sure!!
