He’s been so good for us. A breath of fresh air.

Just wish he took on Paulo on the outside of that break!
Yeah, I think he would have skinned him for sure and then it was just fresh air. But as was said, he did the right thing coming back to the centre and giving options either side. Did we score from that? Can't remember.

I reckon he would have been praised for taking the safe option there, but I also think webby and the bois will be in his ear to back himself in next time.

His first try showed his speed over a short distance. That explosive acceleration was top notch.

That pace free's up RTS. The opposing winger can't give him ANY space, which in turn provides more space inside for Roger to exploit. Roger's try showed that in practice, cutting back inside to a tonne of space.

AKP and Warbrick combo for 2027 has an awesome balance, pace and finishing on one side, yardage and aerial ability on the other.

Yeah i think if he had his time again he'd definitely just open up down the tram line....it was only Paulo coming across.....then again Paulo has trimmed down a lot....maybe for a fleeting instance he thought it was the Fox 😁

I love AKP but there were a couple of times he wasn't quite alert enough to be in the right place. Wade came down the blind and if he had been flat he would have been away. He is a typical explosive sprinter type and has poor to average cardio, watch him blow hard after a big run, it takes him fair while to get his breath back. I think that will keep him on the wing.

He’s got some work ons to do, but he’s making an effort on defence and he’s been solid in the air which were his issues coming over.

The quality of ball he’s been getting is improving which is having the effect of him being more dangerous and also freeing up space for RTS on his inside. He’s a genuine game breaker which we badly need.

If we had a losing record and were in poor form this comment would be under huge focus but the winning thing softens the blow somewhat. However, during match reviews and individual player reviews I'm hopeful but not sure that such topics will arise as work ons for him.

Only thing I can think of is that he might have been told to play with a more conservative mindset for the time being.

He didn't seem to have been looking that far down field.

That intercept shows that he's got a good read on him.

Yeah he was just doing what he is being asked to do at training, hit up the ball and center play for a faster ruck.

That is Webster ball 101 really.

I take it as a great sign that he is more interested/focused on pleasing the coach than doing his own thing.

I'm sure Webster will get it.

Lofi needs to be a structured player if he is gonna last around here.

We may see that change when there is more than one player in this team that will gas it to support a break like that coz you have to have someone at dummy half when he gets tackled (need we be reminded of that) and our backs are not the best at chasing a fast break.

Benefits>Costs when it comes to AKP. What he delivers for us in attack far outweighs any additional defensive deficiencies he might still be carrying from his tits days. That first try he scored against parra, who else in the comp can score that? Absolute sky is the limit with what we can do with him on attack.

Back in the pre-Webby era, I think I'd be more concerned with someone like an AKP coming into a side that already couldn't defend. But now with the solid defensive foundations we have, I think we can afford to carry one high speed/low power winger. Especially if we have power elsewhere in the backline (ie RTS, DWZ and potentially CNK if he comes back in).

Having speed has never been more important. The new ruck interpretations in the game clearly have benefitted the faster teams as opposed to the slower defensive oriented teams. I think the improvement in the cows and manly in recent times has as much to do with that as opposed to any genius coaching by Payten/Foran.

I know this might ruffle a few feathers but AKP is everything I wanted to see in DWZ.

He is the upgraded version and we saw it in the weekend

Intercept try
Aerial try
Taking bombs
Finding gaps
Smart IQ
Explosive speed

He just needs long hair and the transition is complete … 👩🏻

I would have liked to see him take that intercept instead of DWZ and see if he could outrun the fox. Pretty sure he would have made it.

I read on the dogs forum that Gus Gould tried heaven and earth to bring him to the dogs when he was off-contract. Glad he chose us. :)

Instead they had to settle Montoya.

I don’t know who to feel sorry for. The dogs or Montoya

Probably Montoya. He’s getting ripped to shreds on the kennel.

For all the schoolboy errors Dallin makes. He knows how to score a try. He runs the ball back as hard as anyone, Makes good metres. Apart from his misreads on defense, Which is often. He can hit and is aggressive. Has been playing well this year. Except for having several brain farts v Eels.

To be fair Dallin's being defending really well on the edge this year, offers more on attacking bombs and has a knack of getting the ball down in tough situations. Though AKP didn't have the poor reads where he was glued to RTS, not sure if it's the improvement or Eels didn't test it out?

IMO Webby enhances their defensive games too so I'm now like what could have been if Timoko's coming to us this or next year lol. Didn't expect AKP to take over Roger so well and Roger's amazing at centre suddenly, imagine Timoko's filling in the centre spot when Roger leaves....

I guess it'll be Ali the x-factor and Anderson the workhorse centre pairing, it's just the current backline is on fire 🤣
