General A team with impact

The reason why the Warriors are struggling with continuity and flowing footy is simply because they have too many types of different styles mixed up all into one team.

What Ivan needs to do is identify what kind of player everyone is and make combinations through that. Theres the razzle dazzle tigers style of play or then theres the bash it up Broncos style.

And lets face it the warriors play their best when they play care free attacking footy like the tigers.."or just for fun" as Lauititi once famously said.

Therefore my team would be

1. Webb
2. Vuna
3. Faumauina
4. Toopi
5. Vatuvai
6. Rovelli
7. Hohaia
8. Wiki
9. Fien
10. Price
11. Tuamaveve
12. Anderson
13. Ropati

Inter = Fai, Koopu, Lauaki, Guttenbeil

I reckon lack of impact, direction from the halves as well plus we seem to be predictable atm

Thats a good 6/7 Combination.

Two problems from last nights game. Toopi and Byrne didnt get the ball. Rovelli is our best passing player and he can work outside Hohaia and throw cut out and skip passes to Toopi and Byrne. Not only will it mean there is more time for Toopi and Byrne to "do their stuff", but it creates a variation and takes advantage of overlaps (like last week when Rovelli threw that cut out pass to Martin).

Also Lance Hohaia can be the go to man and just put players into gaps and run at the line when he chooses to aswell as putting in some short kicks into the ingoal getting repeat set of six's. How many times have the Warriors got a back to back set of six off a kick into the ingoal? I remember 1 and that was when Louis Anderson kicked ingoal Vs the Storm last week. Apart from that Fien has been either bombing or trying little bombs to the wing. We need possession to score and pressure to wear out defenses like the Parramatta Eels did. Tim Smith's kicking was great ingoal.

Exactly I couldnt agree more with you Mosh with Hohaia and Rovelli playing 6/7 it gives us so much more variation plus it gives Hohaia the chance to come in and have a few runs straight from dummy half if need be without compromising our attacking abilities out wide.

In the 2 games so far its not that we havent been able to make any line breaks we just havent had any supporting players. Ie against the Storm when Toopi had to take on Slater by himself and then against the Eels when Fein made a clean break but had no one inside him to pass to.

I dont think Byrne should be left out again ever after last nights effort.

I know its not panick stations yet....but lets just blood Rovelli as Ivan sees fit.....so definitily have Ropati on the bench as cover for those areas......you could try a Ropati/Webb switch.
Gotta have Faumuina playing as a off loading second row/lock for variety although i like Anderson at lock.

Rovelli at five-eighth and Hohaia at halfback would be the perfect halves combination, as Hohaia has a great kicking game, both short and long, which is exactly what is needed for that role and Rovelli also has a great kicking game, but more importantly a great cut out pass, and if Toopi or Vatuvei got one of his passes I would hate to be the opposition.

1. Webb - safest option right now
2. Vuna - adds speed to the backrow
3. Faumuina - offloads and creativity his combination with Vuna could be dangerous

4. Vatuvei - Better speed, strength, defense and handling than the USUAL Toopi. This is a bigger role for him if he is determined.
5. Toopi - An attacking player with little defense and many errors. With less pressure placed on him, he can attack more efficiently

6. Rovelli - should cement a spot if he is consistent
7. Hohaia - the best option right now

8. Wiki
9. Fien - good runs, limited kicking, take pressure off the halves
10. Price (c) - 2 of the best props in the NRL

11. Luck
12. Koopu
13. Anderson - 3 defensive based players

14. Ropati/Martin
15. Fai
16. Tuimavave/ Lauki/Tuakura/Rapira/Villasanti
17. Guttenbeil
