Alrighty, so those of you who have seen me interact on the forums in the past have probably seen me initiate the occasional community act for a player, usually when they've suffered a long term injury, (McKinnon, Tate), or are departing the club, (Wiki, Swann, Koopu).

This usually takes the form of a get well or a farewell card.

I'd like to do something a bit different for Jerome. I've heard through the grapevine that he values spending family time playing board games.

I happen to run an online board game store selling modern board games. (i.e. not Monopoly...) ;)

I'd like to encourage folk to consider chipping in a small amount towards getting a game sent his way on behalf of the fans.

It's a more personalised and unique gift than a card, plus it'll give him something to do while he's not mobile.

The money chipped in will go to NZWF, who can then make a purchase. Anything over and above can be set aside for the next time the community wants to provide for a player or a fan.

For those interested, the game we'd like to send him 'Ride to Europe' board game

Just follow the Paypal link on the right hand panel of the website and put in a few dollars to show Jerome that we care. I'll be putting in some of my personal cash, too. Any extras leftover from the donation drive will be used for 2012 farewell cards, so open your hearts and wallets and donate. :)

I was a bit confused about where to find the paypal link. it's on the home page of this website, first I was looking on the game website.
It's on the forum page, too.

Taj, maybe there should be a link to the Paypal link, and vice versa? (The latter so that those who see the link realise what it's actually about.)

And thanks to all the donators! It's great seeing the community spirit coming together like this.

Taj, is there a direct link I can direct people to? I know of a few Warriors fans who are also board gamers, but don't have the time to sign up to a forum.

Yep, but is there a direct link? Or should I just link them to the front page?

Must say very fancy and easy way to donate, I like it. :)

Now if only buying tv shows in NZ was that easy, I bet people that do DL things would be more inclined to purchase...

Huh...board games eh?

Ticket is a decent game.

The play on words, Stop Jerome from getting Board is a bad one btw, because we want him to get board.

Yeah, I reckon Ticket is a good game for someone who enjoys board games but is used to playing luck-based games like Monopoly.

Do you play a few games, Tyrael? (Apart from Diablo, of course...)

Monopoly isn't a luck based game Jesbass... Unless I lose.
Haha...totally not going to turn this into a debate. The core mechanic is roll and move, so a dice randomly decides which street you end up on. Obviously, what you choose to do from then on is largely strategy based.

I was never ruthless enough in the negotiating part of the game and my brother would always work a deal that was heavily unbalanced in his favour, lol.
