Think if it is against knights would be a good match for us to see where we are at and what we need to change with new squad. Better than playing a top 8 team from last year and getting our hopes destroyed early. Should be a good game.

Would imagine 6pm AST otherwise it would be played during evening news in Australia.
Fairly certain all Friday games at Mt smart have been at 8pm NZ time. 6pm time on a Friday wouldn't work out too great logistically with the rush hour traffic just starting to quieten down after 5pm.

After three long seasons away, Mt Smart Stadium will once again light up with the sights and sounds of live NRL action, with nine exciting games confirmed in today's release of the 2023 NRL Telstra Premiership Draw.
The homecoming season gets underway in Wellington's Sky Stadium against the Newcastle Knights on Friday 3 March, before returning to Mt Smart Stadium to meet the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs on Sunday 26 March.
Other highlights include a showdown with the two-time premiers Penrith Panthers at Magic Round on May 6, hosting the Brisbane Broncos at Napier's McLean Park in Round 13 and 2023 debutant Dolphins heading to Mt Smart Stadium on 3 June for a Saturday 5.00pm blockbuster.

Hard to read too much into the draw but got an ok start and decent 5 week stint after the last bud to finish the season
13 games in NZ. First game not even at mnt smart. The NRL organization fucking shit. Really show what they think of our sacrifice.
3 of our first 8 games at home, only two of them at Mt Smart
