Yep - tough losing the only recruitment manager we’ve had with genuine credentials and sad to think he’ll be on manoeuvres at the Dolphins next season. I hope his relationship with Brown is just as solid 12 -24 months from now but I expect there to be some casualties.

Gotta question the timing too, we’re at the 11th hour after all. Does leaving the club in a “strong stable position“ include all but securing the signatures of our three main targets? understanding how much actually happens behind closed doors with Nov 1 more a guide post between clubs than the official designation the Nrl places on it.
Contracts are definately discussed prior to 1 Nov behind closed doors. I bet Manu has an offer he intends to sign when the date approaches and has told Roosters. They wouldn’t go out and sign Momorovski for three years if they didn’t think he was gone.

Completely agree. There might even be a case to transition Brownie to that role if we can find a half decent coach to sit under him
I assume the Warriors knew about this a probably back in September and would have a contingency plan. If Brownie is transitioning into this role, even if it’s fast tracked and he’s good in recruiting then so be it. However we’re always a two steps forward, three back club

These are the guys from our current roster off contract in 2023 that I think will sign with Redcliffe:
- Matt Lodge
- Jack Murchie
- Jackson Frei
- Kodi Nikorima
- Ash Taylor
- Pride Peterson Robati

I think we will re-sign Montoya. And I have a feeling we will also try and re-sign Egan as i’m pretty sure he’s in the leadership group so the club and Brown obviously rate him. Jazz will most likely opt in his player option or re-sign. Ale will re-sign given the loyalty we’ve showed him by giving him a contract while injured.

Chanel will sign somewhere else, not the Dolphins, after we sign Metcalf.

With POS and Gould leaving earlier, it leave the club in a shambles and the chances of signing Manu etc after Nov 1 is looking a long way off and more likely not a chance. None of these talked about players will want to come to a club that has no idea what they are doing, and after the 2021 season showing the team was hopeless why would Manu etc be keen on signing. Players want to win a premiership title and signing with the Warriors would mean they would never win a premiership title. Sad but true, if you want to win a premiership then the Warriors is not the team you want to sign with!

How????

I hope they've done all the nitty gritties and 01/11 is just going through the process

Would be so bad if the 3 we're after end up at the Dolphin's press conference

If you want to play finals the warriors are not the team to sign for

if you want to up your game then the warriors are not the team you want to sign for.

If you want to live in a good affordable city then the warriors are not the team to sign for

if you want to play for a reputable coach or system then the warriors are not the team to sign for

IF you want more money than any other club will give you elsewhere that’s the only reason you sign for the warriors.

Sad

Take a deep breath everyone.
POS couldn’t leave earlier until confirmation Dolphins were granted expansion licence. This only happened 2 weeks ago. Club would have known it was in the pipeline.
Any deals are already agreed in principle for 2023 targets, ( with the view to get them in 22’)
The club will sign another recruitment manager and he will be ready for the next transfer window and the reintroduction of our reserve and junior teams.
The club is on the up, get on board!

2 scenarios here. POS has already got the 3 signings over the line its just a formality or we potentially lose Manu to the dolphins. I'm hoping for the first version. 😰😰😰

Cam George sounds very sour about this
Noticed in the statement PO’S put out last night, when he thanked the staff, he thanked Mark, Rob and especially Cameron. Probably for all he’s done arranging the last couple of years I suppose. If the signings are still delivered as he said in the article that nothing changes, it puts a feather in the cap of those left over he said are still sticking to the plan of recruiting the targets and if successful, reassures everybody that they are capable.

Guys, some of you need to take a deep breath.

This does not leave the club in shambles (it was shambles long before this! I joke)

This doesn’t mean that we don’t have a plan for November 1st. It’s not like POS had secrets and now he’s gone we don’t know what they are or how to do it.

This doesn’t mean that we can’t recruit others moving forward. A recruitment manager is not the reason a player signs for a club. POS skill is identifying talent - while we will lose out there, the ability to recruit is still there.

We need to show we’re a good option for good players. That starts with regular finals appearances and making it deep into finals. If we go well in 2022 and 2023, recruitment should be much easier for 2024-2026.

We’re two or three players away from our target squad. With the team as is, we should be in the 8 next year. With those others we should be pushing top 6, and with more experience in 2023 we should be knocking on the door of the top 4.

I see it that way too, and expecting version 1. I think the fact he and Niukore are kiwis, he’ll bring them to where they rightfully should be. The fact that the titans are throwing massive money at Tino and him not yet signing and the likes of Christian Welch strikes me they will look towards Queenslanders and ex Redcliffe juniors with it in mind to make the club a Queensland origin stable. Wouldn’t be confident of keeping Walsh past his current contract.

I think this is where most people are at.

I’m not worried about the short term. We have the guys to get our 2023 recruitment targets across the line.

Long term I don’t trust the people we currently have (or will likely bring in) to identify the right talent from the lower grades.

Nek minit ..

Football Director: Nathan Brown
Head Coach: Justin Morgan
Assistants: Craig Hodges, Tony Iro

If they were to go down this track, it could be too late? You would have been working on this as a plan B already. They must have known about POS plans ? The real only established coach would be Shane Flanaghan (would be handy).
