Lawton WANTS to stay? You're telling me a talented hooker that HASN'T been injured every 2.3 runs AND shows good potential wants to stay?

Better release him to another club mid-season ...

Na, too inconstant, and wants to be paid at his top price rate (which he earns once every 5 weeks). We have enough of that already.

Maybe if was wanting $500k-$600k, but LOL it's the Warriors. Add 30%. Managers spreading rumours most likely.

That’s not actually what happened, we had him. He was keen, we were keen, but Melbourne came in late with more money.

The Warriors are now in the embarrassing situation of being without a coach just three weeks before players are scheduled to return to pre-season training.

Ultimately, the Bellamy deal fell over because the Warriors wanted him to be head coach next year.

Bellamy has made it clear he has no intention of leaving the Storm before his deal ends next season.

Hull FC have identified New Zealand Warriors prop forward Tevita Satae as a potential signing for next season.

Satae has been targeted by FC but at this stage any deal is in its embryonic stages with the Tongan forward one of several players the club are looking at and speaking to.

The 26-year-old, who can also play in the back-row, has featured for the Warriors on 12 occasions over the last couple of seasons in the NRL, his latest coming last week in the loss to league leaders Melbourne Storm.

Satae is highly thought of in the Southern Hemisphere and was linked with a lucrative switch to the Storm last year, something which failed to materialise after extending his deal with Warriors until 2021.

But after making just two appearances this season he could cut his time in Auckland short and Hull Live can confirm a story first reported in League Weekly that the Black and Whites have identified Satae as one player who can add firepower and youth to their aging pack.

Mark Minichiello, Sika Manu, Mickey Paea, Chris Green, Dean Hadley and Joe Westerman are among a host of players entering the final months of their contracts with the club and most of those names are expected to leave come the end of the season.

As such, FC’s recruitment team will be working hard over the coming weeks and months as they look to rebuild the Lee Radford’s pack with a prominence on signing players with youth on their side to take the club forward.

FC have already signed Salford back-rower Josh Jones and Adam Swift from St Helens for 2020, while a deal for Warriors’ forward Ligi Sao is also done.

After impressing in the National Youth Competition with Penrith Panthers, and in the Auckland Rugby League competition for a number of sides, Satae signed with New Zealand Warriors in 2017 and made his first-grade debut that year.
