Maybe we’ll end up with Darius Boyd? We could sign him on a healthy 4 year deal. Cameron George could also chuck in a couple of tracksuits to seal the deal.

I'd rather watch a team of different misfits go round next year than this year's ones, that's about all I'm hoping for in the off-season. Four or five new faces, even old faces like Glenn and Kahu would make a difference. Same shit different team is better than the same shit again.
Alex Glenn would be an upgrade on someone like young Papa surely, he's still like a headless chook on the rare occasions we break the line, far too green for what he's being asked to do.
Levi... at least he's specialist hooker, I've seen him do fantastic stuff but not so much lately, he can be the new Bully. I draw the line at Benny Muts though, he'd do well in Hull with Ligi. Rusty... you never know what you'll get with a loose cannon like that, the destroyer from the U20s or the fatass who left for his OE. Could be worth a shot, he can do what Lisone does only fatter.

In the 1980s copywriters for TV shows used to struggle for content and you would end up seeing the same dialogue lines on different shows, it was as if the copywriters would all watch other shows for ideas and when they heard a good one liner they would use it in their own show.
At one point the line "A change is as good as a holiday" appeared on about 15 different shows over a 6 month period or at least it seemed like that to me.
So I tried it one year. I changed scenery instead of taking a holiday and actually a change wasn't as good and I got tired in a hurry.
So change for changes sake doesn't work well. I think we should keep Papa one more year as he is young and could yet blossom.
And no one here really wants Alex Glenn unless the entire NRL comes down with AIDS and Alex is the last one standing.

We definitely had an affiliation with Wynnum Manly in Brisbane but that was back as far as 98/2000 from memory and well before the current Qld Cup format.
The Warriors used to send guys over weekly to play with them.
I used to see the likes of Warangi Koopu and other up and coming Warriors of that era playing with Wynnum.
For mine, aligning with a Qld Cup side would benefit us greatly. It’s a top quality competition and having our development guys get used to a comp only 1 tier lower than NRL would surely set them up for the NRL grind/expectations and would be much better than whatever we are doing right now.
Not sure why it hasn’t been looked at again.

I appreciate your parable and you're probably right Wrighty but I'm trying to look at it with a half full glass with one eye on the reality of who's available and who we're likely to end up with, judging by the guys Kearney's managed to lure over so far to play for him. Tohu Harris, Peta and Gerard Beale are light years ahead of the local contenders for their positions.
I'll probably drink myself to death if I have to sit through this shit until 2023 or whenever Papa and the boys are due to come right, Glenn is good to go now. Well, he was 5 years ago anyway.

I see the Panthers have released a bunch of players, Sele would be a decent pick up for depth and potential.

Heck sign Boyd and do a straight swap for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck while your at it.

It’s refreshing to read I Cleary taking responsibility for the ‘19 season. Saying as head coach the buck stops with him. Shame some other coach’s I know cant be man enough to admit they were wrong?!
