But chicks don't root loosers?
Would it be wrong to mention M Johns? And yet just like the recent cricket cheating, it got covered up and now he has his own TV show and often making anti NZ jokes.

Where is that video of Andrew Johns laughing at Slater predicting the warriors will be the number 1 improved team this year?

Interesting hearing one of the Aussie journo's (I think it was Steve Mascord) on RadioSport this morning. In his opinion, the next two games against the Broncos and the Dragons will show whether the Warriors are a top 4 or a top 8 side this season.

Also been interesting to watch the season odds on sportsbet.com.au have firmed on the Warriors from $51 at the start of the season to fourth equal with the Cowboys on $9. Favourites are still the Roosters ($5), Dragons next ($7) and then the Storm ($8).

Think it was Josh Massoud there Miket. Was definitely an interesting listen, he was pumping them up essentially saying they are a top 4 side and it would be a failure if they fell out of the 4. Also, it was he who sparked me to write in the SK thread about only praise for Corvo and none for SK, as he just be banged on and on about Corvo.

Buzz said exactly this on NRL360. In a fortnights time we will know...

Fuck ‘em even if we win both those games, people will still find reasons to doubt… was at home… at full strength what about when injuries… origin… pressure of expectation… broncos suck and dragons were due to loose… should have won by more… the real teams wait until august to make their run… peaked too soon… wait until they play the ’97 knights or ’00 broncos, those champions Johns and Lockyer that will be the true measure…

Reality is, the salary cap does work and their are no perfect, unbeatable teams these days, someone has to come top of the log, why not the warriors, they are well drilled, fit, their defense has been very good, and have players with points in them.

Some coach will realise the warriors have changed and completions and wait till they fall apart won't work anymore, roadblocks will appear, no one can foresee when or against who, just loving looking forward to the games, have shed the looming sense of dread and the frantic analyzing, of maybe can win this if the refs favour us, or maybe if they are missing players, or maybe if we make minor selection changes, maybe, maybe a win, maybe if not travelling too far, or too hot, maybe... already got fucking 5 of them!

Having a difficult draw is a bit of a misleading statement to be honest, every year (and this year has been no exception) teams expected to do well, do not and visa versa. Further you throw in injuries and form patches and it is a total crap-shoot.

Put in 80 every week, you will win most of your homes games, half of your away games and be in the top 4.

I also don't agree with the "next two weeks will tell us a lot" story this early in the season. The Storm were dominant most of last season but lost to the Titans in round 10 who went on to finish 15th so what did that tell us?

It cracks me up, even if we win those games..

"well now they go to Melbourne on ANZAC day, if they win that one then we will know".

Once we beat Melbourne...

"The next two games the Warriors host Wests Tigers and Roosters, if they take them down then we will know".

I agree with this. Broncos have been average so even if we beat them I don't think it'll give us any greater insight into the side than we have at present. The Dragons at home is a much better gauge as to how we are travelling right now. It is a very long season and the first 10 rounds feel like a life time ago once the Origin period has come and gone and sides have worked out where they're at for the run into September.

Good rant bro !
That's exactly how I feel about all these qualifying statements FUCKem.

We could just as well lose the next two and go on to win the minor premiership.

I think people are slow to adjust to the idea that it is a brand new recipe using some old ingredients...but Warriors past are like apples and oranges.

Two big mistakes teams keep repeating is wasting tackles in the middle on our try line.

Centering play is fine, but early in games, sides keep running big men at the middle.
No one has scored through our middle, it's our strongest third.
Running at Luke and Johnson has been working, Canberra made those two go quiet with the ball, but as a defensive pair, they are putting on some of our best hits.

Peta Hiku is improving in defence, he is one of the weaker links, this week he sat Cohen Hess on his arse 1:1 and Hess was ginger after that.

Coaches will eventually work the Warriors out, no one is immune to analysis.

The Warriors bench make up...makes that task harder though...because they are ignoring convention there, both with timing ( holding fresh ammo for the 2nd half sometimes) playing some weird combos of players.

Teams will reach the same fitness peak as the Warriors ( Tigers Dragons Penrith, the Rabbitohs have picked up looking at their late assault on the Dragons etc).

Our speed puts us in a select group, our speed and quality of the spine is a bankable asset...you cant shut down all of it.

Our edge defence is still a work in progress, the right it comes down to some improvement at Center ( I have faith in Hiku finding form) and our Left combo are very inexperienced ( they aren't as leaky as round one, Kata has been great in the past, we still have Beale to measure up too).

Getting back to the original point, come finals time, if we are in the top four, we will still have voices saying they haven't done anything yet.

Hell even if they win the dam thing, people will see reason to talk about one hit wonders.

Fuckit...this year...this unique combination of factors will never be repeated...such is the reality of the new.

Embrace it, get all the joy you can on this ride because it is previously un dreamed of.

The next three weeks will be interesting. The Broncos we should beat judging by both teams current form. Still have to watch out for their crafty coach changing a few things to get their season on track.

The Dragons game is obviously the big on coming up. That is followed by the Storm on ANZAC day with a short turn around. That two week period will be a big test. Most sides get a five day turn around at some point but the travel adds another dynamic to it.

We get through that while keeping up the performances we will know the mental toughness of the side has improved.

We still need to get to the winter months where the turns and the season becomes more of a slog.

The players seem to be saying the right things when the Dragons game is mentioned, their focus is firmly on this week against the Broncos.
