Anyone got any updates on how Isaiah Papali'i is going? Heard he had been looking a long way off first grade is this still the case? Do people still see him as a potential first-grade wrecking ball or has that been scaled back?
he must be doing some thing right as he's named on the extended bench for the big boys..... I think he was injured a few weeks back.

I don't think he's the wrecking ball type is he?
I could see him developing into a bit of a josh Jackson style player.

I didn't see any evidence of him being a wrecking ball in his first grade game. But some of the comments in his player thread compared him to a smaller version of Jason Taumololo (not entirely sure how at works as JT without his size isn't really the same player) with those who had watched him as a youngster attributing his power as his greatest asset.

Maybe it was a polite way of saying 'useless' because yeah, I don't see JT being useful as a little fella

Never saw the JT comparisons myself. To me he's more likely to be a mini-Gallen than a mini-JT

I actually think it was possibly people getting carried away with his power lifting background
Power in the junior grades doesn't always transfer to FG. We have seen that already.

Isaiah Papali'i is 19 years old. Give the kid a break. Comparing him to JT is like comparing Shaun Johnson to the other JT. Both JTs should be immortals by the time they are done with their careers. Shaun Johnson and Isaiah, not even close...

You new to the site or have you been worn down to the point where the memory is going?

The forum motto is "throw em in the deep end, if they sink, get rid of them,"

It's right up there with "If they haven't made it by the time they're 22 then they're just not good enough."

Think people would do well to remember how 'great' they were at league or union or whatever sport they played at the same age. Bet the majority weren't even playing then...

Isaiah Papali'i has already won two gold medals.

Clearly he's not the kind of competitor we want coming up through our system.;)

I'd assume we'd have enough points for the finals. How many of our FG players are eligible for the NSW Cup finals this year?

Satae, Lino for sure

Ata at the moment would be I would say, same with Afoa.

Roache and Vete are both injured but would probably qualify if fit.

Sao has probably played too much first grade.

1. Santo
2. CNK
3. Pauga
4. Allwood
5. Burito
6. Ata
7. Lino
8. Vete
9. Roache
10. P Sipley
11. Ogden
12. Afoa
13. Papalii

14. Cherrington
15. T Sipley
16. Satae
17. Gubb

There's been some good performers who aren't in that 17 too so we have some quality players who are could displace those listed (Bell, Tevaga etc)
