Yea, and a 5 day turn around for the Storm game. We should be playing the Knights on the Saturday.A first round loss and we'll be playing catch up for the whole season I reckon. Storm, Bulldogs and then Dragons at Jubilee (have we ever won there?)
We will get some articles about how busy Auckland is that weekend with all of the events on. If we step back a bit it wasn't too long ago that the council was wanting to get rid of some of the stadiums. That would of meant a lot more planning for weekends like this. The cricket test in that scenario would of been played in a smaller venue like a redeveloped Western Springs. So 4th of March will have Warriors vs Knights at Mt Smart, Black Caps vs South Africa at Eden Park and Wellington Phoenix vs Perth Glory at QBE stadium..
Who the F*** plans this s***? All these games are just canabilizing fans from each other. You'd think they would have some communication with each other to avoid clashes in the same area
At least we are down the list for a change. The last 3 years or so we have been first or second in terms of the easiest draw. When things turned to shit some journalists that would remember that would bring up our favourable draw.
Was there any comment on this or did they just keep it quiet and put the lets not talk about it face on so no one mentions it.Good to see Penrith have backed out of their 4 year deal to play games in Chch.... which is odd given they had a great turn out and won...
Just this spin... about a bonus home game for membersWas there any comment on this or did they just keep it quiet and put the lets not talk about it face on so no one mentions it.
A shame considering the positive publicity they were getting promoting the game down there. Rugby league is full of initiatives like this that teams/organisations start but don't see through like things get in the to hard basket.
Our record away from Mt Smart is poor so teams shouldn't fear moving us to other grounds in New Zealand. They also a lot of the time get a boost in gate revenue, not sure how much that is offset by the travel and accommodation costs. But you would expect they wouldn't take it on if there wasn't a benefit.
The more away games we have in NZ means less travel which means our draw starts to resemble what the other sides have.
Don't forget to pack your extra thumbsMight look into going to the Dunners game. Love that town...

someone call him the waaaaaaambulance. poor little penrith having to travel too much
Thats so shit but understandable from Panthers perspective. Was really looking forward to going back there even though the last one was one to forget...Good to see Penrith have backed out of their 4 year deal to play games in Chch.... which is odd given they had a great turn out and won...
To be fair ours is self inflicted.Lol, imagine having to cross the ditch twice in one year.
Sadly its up to the broadcasters. Not Gus or even the NRL. 2018 will see the NRL not sell their soul to FOX and Ch9. Hopefully...Dear Gus
I have a solution. Just play us once a year. One year in CHCH, the next year at Mt. Smart.
Simple enough?
