Mental fortitude is something I believe you are born with anyway. You either have it or you dont. Instead of trying to train it into to players the club should just recruit those that already have it...
Ivan Cleary used to look skywards at all the skill training Daniel Anderson got them to do, did he get results or what?
Yep. It was Liva who blacked out. Not only that but he blacked out clean standing up and banged his head when he hit the ground. Part of Camp Hell was also depriving the players of water. Like I said, thats all good for thinning out professional soldiers but denying professional athletes hydration is simply retarded...I thought it was Havili who blacked out?
I agree. Train the way you intend to play. Hydrated before, during, and after.Yep. It was Liva who blacked out. Not only that but he blacked out clean standing up and bang his head. Part of Camp Hell was also depriving the players of water. Like I said, thats all good for thinning out professional soldiers but denying professional athletes hydration is simply retarded...
Too be fair, everyone has been on their backs about mental toughness for years. Cappy clearly explained that camp he'll was about taking them out of their comfort zones and proving to themselves that they could be better than they thought. For a change it'd be nice to see: "The Warriors 2016. Fatter. Lazier. Slower. Dumber." ad campaigns. Is "he's training the house down!" the most meaningless guide to how good a player's going to be on-field or what?
Actually, only thing I really care about with pre-season training is that no-one breaks anything and it's so bad they don't get a minute of game time in 2016. I hope Mr Henry's wrapped up well, another big injury could be the end of his career.
Of course it's fantasy its a TV show. The point I was trying to make was the training the guys had to do to prepare for their rolls. The bit I mentioned they had to run a fair distance before they even started their training and even that run to get to their session was used as a test. That show is pure fantasy. That stuff about Thailand is just total BS. Scary mentioning it in the same vein as the Warriors.
Isn't SAS camp also used to weed out people who don't have the attributes required for their job, and their job isn't an 80 minute rugby league game. The Brocos used the SAS camp under Bennet aye
Since Havili collapsed, I would suggest they modify there hydration and still do the camp stuff, like Horriors and Snake....its designed to make people keep going....and keep thinking under duress.
Maybe they could have some IV fluids (the drip).....so they don't get the pleasure of drinking....and that way there is no danger at all,
