damn i was hoping someone would have inside info. haha where are the journos i thought theyd have something on laumape!!!!
Just for you.

Ngani Laumape's injury is still unknown. Not torn right through. He aims to be on the field in week 3. If he can play through it he will and hopefully it will heal. If it gets worse he'll have to have an operation and that will be him for the season.

Unfortunately nothing concrete but its one of those injuries. Kevin Locke had the exact same injury in 2013 where he didnt have an operation but there was no timeline on his return. Just got to look after it and hope it corrects itself ASAP.

Daily Telegraph have posted a predicted Warriors Round 1 team list and included this list of injuries.

Glen Fisiiahi (shoulder, round five), David Fusitua (shoulder, indefinite), Ngani Laumape (niggles, TBC), Charlie Gubb (toe, TBC), Siliva Havili (hamstring, TBC), Sebastine Ikahihifo (knee, TBC)

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...et-to-take-field/story-fni3fs14-1227240417485

We're aware of all of these injuries but Sebastine Ikahihfo's one is listed incorrectly.

Another update.

Just spotted this at the end of an article about the Warriors missing out on Foran...

Meanwhile, outside backs Glen Fisiiahi and David Fusitua took part in training today as they continue their rehabilitation from shoulder injuries, but it will be a further four to six weeks before they are available for selection.

Sitting out, though, was centre Ngani Laumape, who picked up a knee injury recently and the club don't yet know how long he'll be out for.

"Initially we feared the worst, but there is a chance that it's not as bad as we thought," McFadden said.

"We're going to have to let it settle down and see if he's got good stability there. If he does then we might get something out of him this season."

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...os-decision-after-missing-out-on-kieran-foran

Timeline on David Fusitua and Glen Fisiiahi. Round 3-5. Wont be surprised if its longer.

Cappy's comments about Ngani Laumape are as concrete as my intel. May play, may not.

"May get something out of him this season" is not the most confident or reassuring thing to hear in regards to a players injury concern. Sounds like theyre not holding out much hope for him.

The word is both Sam's are out Tomkins & Rapira it's looking like Sam Lisone will be making his 1st Grade debut
Sam Lisone is a definite for bench. Cappys wasnt happy with Suaia Matagi's preseason.

Sam Tomkins and Sam Rapira are not looking good. Both did their hammys. Tuimoala Lolohea is penciled in at fullback with Matthew Allwood looking like getting the centre/wing spot with Solomone Kata. Sam Rapira's replacement is Albert Vete at the moment...

well I almost always expect to lose in round 1 anyway… may as well blood some fellas;).

just as a thought,

If Lolohea was to go down this week and Tomkins was not back… who would get the run at FB?

oh dear. Lol.

Ah well, when have we ever started the season without 3-4 on the sideline? Business as usual.

3 debutants, 5 players with only a handful of games. Sounds perfect.

Geez, is Matagi going to be a 1 season wonder?

No Tomkins will be a pretty big blow. Rapira...I'm more indifferent on.

How bad is Tomkin's hamstring.
Unsure? Was only told that he pulled it but that Sam Rapira's was quite bad...

Fish injured, how unusual! This has been a long term injury yeah? Hopefully he can wrangle his way back as I see a big opportunity for him on the wing. If one of our new/young guys steps up, Fish may find it hard to bust back into the squad...

Bloody terrible about Laumape - he's such a dependable player who does well on both sides of the field so losing him through surgery would be a massive blow imo.

Rapira the only other big deal on there for mine. Not because he's been playing well (who of our props have?) but because we really lack fron row talent. Here's hoping Lisone can bring the pain.

Otherwise nothing of immense concern.

For me the other question about Rapira... are we ever going to see a season where he's not injured at some (or multiple) point(s)? At his best - very very crucial player for us. But when not at his best/carrying injuries...

Yeah I was going to mention that. Rapira seems to be really slow to rehab back from injuries. Somuch so, that it's really affected his status in the NRL. Remember he was an instant pick for the Kiwis not so many years ago! And in theory he should be nearing his prime.
