Happy to remove a few players off the rehab list. Have added Ken Maumalo after the Titans game when he went off early. Was told he was just being rested but havent heard anything lately.

Also Shaun Johnson played with a sore back against the Raiders. Sat out the captains run. Hopefully sort himself out over the bye period...

Ken Maumalo

Although the Warriors' other winger, Ken Maumalo, left the game early with an ankle injury and is in doubt for the Raiders game, Vatuvei's impressed with what the 20-year-old rookie has done in his four NRL games so far and is predicting a big future for him.

An injury scare has put Konrad Hurrell in doubt for Sunday's NRL clash with the Melbourne Storm at Mt Smart.

Hurrell was forced from the field after diving for a ball on the ground.

The 23-year-old, who was a key player in the Warriors' win over the Raiders last weekend, was left lying on the ground after a contest with a teammate to regain possession of a rolling ball.

The Tongan international took no further part in training and had ice applied to his upper arm.

The team to play the Storm will be announced this afternoon.

Lolohea to center with Fusitua on the wing? Or is that too young. Maybe the peoples champ back in the mix?

Hopefully Hurrell's injury isn't to serious especially with having 3 key players already out with injury. We seemed to be close to what could a full strength team without TL, Laumape and Henry unavailable for selection.

Lolohea is the most likely replacement. There is a lot to debate if he would be better off being a utility this year before becoming a regular half or playing regularly in the halves in NSW Cup in preparation for next year. But when we get injuries like this thankfully we have him ready to full the spot and so far this year do it well.

Probably about time to give Fusitua another go, scoring tries for fun in reserve grade at right centre. Unclear if his defence has gotten any better though.

The Warriors preparations for Sunday's NRL clash against Melbourne have taken a blow with centre Konrad Hurrell exiting this morning's training session with his left arm in a sling.

The injury occurred early in the session when Hurrell was involved some opposed drills before he pulled up in noticeable pain and discomfort.

Medical staff accompanied the 23-year-old to the sheds and afterwards coach Andrew McFadden said the extent the injury was yet to be revealed.

"We're still not sure yet. Hopefully it's not too bad," said McFadden.

"We were doing some diving on loose ball just at the start of the training session. I think he just fell awkwardly so I'm not too sure how bad it is.

"Obviously he didn't finish the session and that puts him in some doubt for this weekend but I'll get a more extensive report from out medical staff hopefully very soon."

Should Hurrell be forced to sit out this weekend's match, McFadden nominated winger-turned- centre David Fusitua as his likely replacement.

Head of athletic performance Balin Cupples speaks to Vodafone Warriors TV regarding injured players and the status of those that have recently returned to the playing field.

Injured against the Titans in round 15, outside back Ken Maumalo is expected to make his return to full training later this week if he meets his running requirements at Tuesday's field session.

Still prefer suggestion of Lolohea in centre with Fusitua staying on wing but hey with Konnie out I'll take whatever we can get ! Maybe we can get Erin to come over here and kiss it better ... :p

Benry is hardly a key player

Whats everyones opinion on stretching in regards to injury prevention? Nowadays players spend at least a good twenty to thirty mins streching throughout training when research shows no difference at all in injuries from those that strech precompeting and those that dont. Are we wasting our time with a fad or unproven assumption? 30 mins more tackle practice or high bombs wouldnt hurt. Everybody swears by streching but the facts dont seem to support the theory.

I don't really stretch much unless I'm preparing my pelvis for a solid workout.

Think most of the pregame warm up is more about getting that second wind than it is about stretching...
