I can't believe Rapira wasn't selected in the squad. He has been outstanding for us this year.
cappy said in the interview yesterday he is under an injury cloud

He can based on Permanent Residency grounds i guess, but personally that is the last thing i want to see happening. He is a proud Qlder and as such should be representing his state and country. The mere thought of this is highly hypocritical especially when the majority condemn Karmichael Hunt, James Tamou etc for switching allegiance from NZ to Australia just because they lived in Australia. I want to see players in the NZ team who are willing to do anything for the jersey and hold it in the upmost regard. Not just because they have lived in the country for 3/4 years. Might as well kill the international game and have games based on where people live then.is the LILLY-MAN able to be selected for the kiwis yet ??
he is having the best year of his carreer and been here for what, 5 years ?
all these other players are switching countries from 5 months ago just to get a run
Haha I loved that mag! Wish I still had some. ABC Warriors! A shame the Judge Dredd movies were no where as ruthless as the comics.i like him coz he reminds me of a character from 2000AD (the comic) View attachment 9031 ...
average player though
Hes an OK player. A national rep honour for a player who plays on the bench for one of the supposedly weaker forward packs around though? His past 2 games have been impressive stats wise (he cracked 100 metres both games) in just a tad over 40 minutes. If he got picked on those two games, then i am okay with it. However it is likely he would have been in the mix earlier, and i dont know how when you consider his stats. (he only cracked over 50 metres twice in the first 6 rounds, highest being 70ish metres, both were in Round 1 and 2.). That is not the hallmarks of a player in form throughout the season, and who justifies his inclusion ahead of someone like JWH. If he was touted as a possible Anzac Day Test player prior to his past 2 games, then statswise or whatever you want to look at, the fact is the selectors are scraping the bottom of the barrel due to the lack of available personnel, not because he demanded his inclusion in the team due to form. You Kenny Bromwich doubters are obviously doubters, but I've been keeping an eye on him stats wise because he's in my Nearly NRL team and he actually does a good job stats wise. He may be invisible during the match, but he is working his butt off.
So I'm all for his call up for this test.
One things for sure, our last match against the Aussies was a piss poor effort. Someone had to get punted to the curb for it, otherwise it goes on and on forever.
I just hope Kerney continues to pick players who perform at the top level and isn't just trying to save face, and his job.

56 metres from nine runs. That's not awe inspiring stuff, and if he can't get his head round international footy then he doesn't deserve a spot in the team on potential alone. I hate that word.

Guys becoming eligible for the Kiwis because they play for a NZ team in an Aussie team has always annoyed me since the days Lee Odenryn was talked as being a wing option for the Kiwis after a few years for the Warriors. Becoming eligible on residency worked better in the amateur or semi professional days when someone would move to another country for work or family reasons. He can based on Permanent Residency grounds i guess, but personally that is the last thing i want to see happening. No. We don't pick ones we forced to sign agreements. We trap them. Let others go to Australia. Then pick reserve graders.I would have thought Taumalolo has been playing well enough to get a run? :/
