General 2023 in review

Was not sure where to put this but I hope the club can continue with the same success next year. Just got through Halloween down here in Christchurch. Had over 70 kids trick or treating come to my door. I handed out the treats with my Warriors gear on. Every boy over 6 gave me an up the Wahs without fail.
I wore the Wellingtion table cloth jumper, it scared them away

DWZ isn't actually that quick. Our whole backline lacks pace really. Where is our supposed speedster Luke Metcalf?

For moine, I'm not going to be posting "Next Year Is Our Year" when it's New Year's Eve, which, of course, became kind of a running joke in hope that next year we might actually be actually decent. But I'll avoid tempting fate too hard by simply saying "Next Year Will Be Last Year." Frankly, I could live with that for a few seasons. Okay, I'd rather not be held to 0 like the Roosters did to us and yes, I'd rather not lose a couple of games as badly as we did this year, but as to where we ended up, playing in the Finals, having threads in here where we bitched about the quality of our seats to a Finals game at Mt Smart, more of that, Webby and Da Boys!!

The top 10 fastest players in the NRL for 2021 (per NRL Twitter):

Mitchell Moses - 36.1 km/h
Jack Hetherington - 36.1 km/h
Selwyn Cobbo - 36.2 km/h
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak - 36.3 km/h
Herbie Farnworth - 36.7 km/h
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow - 37.3 km/h
Dominic Young - 37.4 km/h
Xavier Coates - 37.6 km/h
Jason Saab - 38.0 km/h
Josh Addo-Carr - 38.1 km/h

This was from 2021, so was among the speedsters of the comp then. Would have sat around 7th on this years top 20 with the speed he was recording in 2021. Fascinated to see Jack Hetherington on the list and Herbie Farnsworth is deceptively fast for his size.

GPS satellites must be more accurate over Sydney then!
Pretty sure we play a few games in Sydney each year...

How do they record it? Seems the speed gun is kept in Sydney…
Yup, it's another conspiracy to keep the Warriors down....

Or we just have a slow backline. Don't need to a speed gun or GPS read out to recognise that. Even Luke Metcalf isn't that fast, though in comparison to our other players may look like he is - I recall a play where we had him on the wing and he got the ball in clear space and was chased down pretty quickly.

None from the Warriors, Storm, Raiders or Cows. The further way team from Sydney North, South, East and West are all slow 🤔

It’s a conspiracy I tell you! The teams outside Sydney obviously didn’t get covid vaccinated so the 5G does reflect off them as well!
