That might of been in the 80s - but the clubs in reality have little control of what their players decide to do.
Although I assume there is a little tension - many clubs are working with schools.
Mt Albert Lions would be smart to work with MAGS - especially because MT Albert dont have many junior players at that 18s level.
There are kids and parents wanting teams all over Auckland - it is the school that is stopping it from happen.
But all it takes is some public and parent pressure - soon these schools wont be able to say no - it will be too much bad PR come their way.
I realise De La Salle has played league - I remember Henry Faafili played for them 2nd year 7th. lol
Trust me they would come close to winning it.
Not 100% who goes there.
But league boys alone they would have some of the best league players in the country.
Paul Tuli - Warriors NYC - will played next year and will probably be starting prop for NZ 18s
He has a little brother who is in the NZ 16s cant remember his name
Ofahiki Ogden - he is a freak - 6 foot 3 - 100kgs plus - fast as a winger etc. will played Warriors next year.
Also I think Marvin Tauhinu - who played First XV this year - He is a gun. I think he has signed with Knights.
Add this together with a few First XV boys - equals a team hard to beat.
Tuli, Ogden & Tauhinu - would be too strong and physical in a game of league.[DOUBLEPOST=1379195363][/DOUBLEPOST]
