Bulldogs forward Willie Mason will play his 200th Grade game on Sunday when Canterbury take on St George Illawarra at Telstra Stadium in what should be another blockbuster clash.

Mason who has gone on to play 18 Tests and 7 State of Origin matches joined the Bulldogs in 1998 as an unknown youngster from Newcastle who was involved in the Hunter Mariners development squads in 1997.

The Toronto junior made his first grade debut for the Bulldogs in 2000 against Penrith in Round 13.

His 199 games for the Club are made up of 49 Jersey Flegg (or equivalent) games, 21 Premier League games and 129 first grade games.

Mason has scored 63 tries across the three grades, which includes 32 in first grade. Eddie Burns is the only forward who has scored more Grade tries than Mason whilst current Coach Steve Folkes also scored 63 tries across the Grades.

Mason made his Test debut in 2002 and his State of Origin debut the following year. Mason was a standout performer for the Bulldogs in their Premiership success in 2004 and also took out the Clive Churchill Medal.

After injury ruined his 2005 season, Mason this year has produced his best form and is developing into an outstanding leader for the Club both on and off the field.

Mason is now eligible for Bulldogs Life Membership and it's likely he'll receive the honour at the next AGM to be held in February, 2007.

Folkes holds the record for Most Grade Games at Canterbury with 308 and current players with over 200 Grade Grade Games include Hazem El Masri (294), Brent Sherwin (231) and Corey Hughes (209).

Steve Mortimer holds the record for First Grade appearances with 272 followed by Terry Lamb (261), Steve Folkes (245), Hazem El Masri (239), Chris Anderson (232) and Eddie Burns (232).

Darren Smith played the most First Grade Games (185 First Grade and 192 All Grades) without appearing in 200 Grade Games and Steven Hughes with 70 played the least amount of First Grade Games for those with over 200 Grade Games.

Nathan Barry with 138 played the most Grade Games without playing one of them in First Grade and the Most First Grade Games without appearining in the Lower Grades were Daryl Halligan (166 plus 6 WCC games), Roy Kirkaldy (160), Henry Porter (156) and Luke Patten (141 plus 1 WCC game). Mitch Newton is the only player with over 100 appearances in two grades with 106 in First Grade and 118 in Reserve Grade. Newton also holds the record for most Reserve Grade Games followed by Steven Hughes (115), Ben Gillies (106) and Kevin Moore (100).
