My issue with Hastings is less the attitude stuff and more that he simply isn't an elite halfback. Decent running game but his kicking game is below par for an NRL half, especially long-range. If we're replacing Shaun we need to aim higher.
If we need to sign Tyrone to get Terrell then that’s a no from me.
And honestly, I don’t see a huge upside in Taylan (good player, don’t get me wrong) given that we have RTS/Berry/Ali. Just not a huge priority.
Replacing AFB is kind of a fool’s game; there’s like 1-2 other players who offer...
With Cappy saying that we're done for 2024 recruitment after Capewell, the make up of the bench is looking like the most interesting point going into next season. I'm not sure I'm sold on Webby moving Niukore or Harris into the front row just yet, though I suppose it is possible. I'd imagine...
I like the Capewell signing. Think he’ll do a good job for us if he isn’t overexposed minutes wise. Experienced, professional, and runs a decent line as well. Think we’ll likely use him as an impact player off the bench given our current stocks.
Not against signing Klemmer for 2025, but we'd need someone else as well I think. And at that point it might be better value just going after one big marquee signing.
If we could get Klemmer for this season as well though? That's a no-brainer to me. Would be huge for us.
I don't know if that's a fair representation of his issues tbh. He's got some issues that he's opened up about but they're his; he's not Matt Lodge or some other kind of locker room cancer.
Don't really understand the reluctance with Crichton. If the opportunity is there (which it probably isn't), he is 100% worth it. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. But the potential upside is way too good to turn down.
Joining the chorus of those disappointed about Curran. When he first came into the team I honestly thought he was a plodder, but he turned that around big time in that breakout season under Brown. Moreso than his contribution on the field though I liked that he truly wanted to be here, and...
