Jiri with a bullshit statement that he showed mercy for the injury

I actually think that's quite a genuine take from him.
He's a different sort of fighter - a very old school / spiritual / samurai view on fighting and you could sort of see that going through his mind in the fight after it happened.

He could have just kicked the leg to death, Carlos was so compromised but pointed to the mat to throw down.

I like both fighters more after that fight.

You’re probably right but I thought Kenny Florian made a good point. It’ll be interesting in his next fight to see how ruthless he is

Jiri is not your average UFC meat head fighter. It was pretty refreshing seeing a UFC fighter show a human side.

The period where Ulbergs knee was compromised was pretty sad. It ruin's the fight essentially.

Ulberg's left hook is crazy.

Gives the impression it’s from a genuine place of his own mistake but can look a bit like excuses sometimes. He was complimentary towards Ulberg’s striking etc coming into the fight and think he’s genuine in his view of his performance and the mistake he made, his next fight will be interesting if he’s in a similar position though

It's not like Jiri stopped kicking Ulberg's leg after his 'throwdown' gesture so it was more showboating than mercy IMO. He was still wary of the check hook and he wanted Carlos to come forward so that he didn't walk into it. Unfortunately for him, Carlos could be barely more. That ACL is gone I'm sure which is a shame because Carlos is 35 and this is his chance to make big money.

Lots of fighters fight once a year. This time he has an excuse.

For the next year, just get as many sponsors and make money off being the champion. Musashi might give him more money etc.

If he's smart, he'll also make sure to not fight any wrestlers. Take on Jamal Hill, Roundtree etc.

Jiri is popular so I could see a rematch.

Hill or Paulo Costa would be fun and winnable I think.

That's just weird from both sides.

Loved when Izzy belted Costa.
Trump wanted to know why Derrick Lewis wasn’t on the white house bill and wanted him added, he now fights Josh Hokit who seems a unique character

Josh Hokit's persona was so annoying I tuned in wanting him to lose so bad. The fight was an all time classic.
Hokit is now a must watch fighter.

The UFC like the Warriors - always seems to suck me back in to watching everything.

Would love to see him turn up with a combative persona at the white house with intentions to shit stir

Basically all of the fighters suck up to the current administration - the UFC and following is fairly right wing these days despite the proclamations of being apolitical.

Hotik was doing an outlandish schtick and then an introverted schtick. Pretty unusual approach.
Amazing fight though.

Still fascinating there’s going to be a ufc event at the white house. Probably shouldn’t be surprised as it’s already been used as a tesla sale lot
