Massively enjoyed our physical domination tonight. Stefano is just not up to origin the way we bashed him tonight. If he gets picked, I'd have grave concerns for the blues. Not that I particularly care.
Only got picked for Origin because Bellamy was involved

What was so great about the win was watching storm totally devoid of what to do in the second half especially and our defence continually turning up with heavy contact. How Harry Grant avoided a sin bin when we were on our line and he purposefully slowed the play down is beyond me and Loiero just can’t help but put shit into his game
Those are signs of desperation. As a Warriors supporter I know it well.

I think I was more making a point around preseason training and now important it is to set the tone for the year ahead.

We need to figure out who our long term 7 is and then try to find as close to a carbon copy of that player, as a backup.

If it's Metcalf, that's fine. But for this year, at least, I'd be sticking to TB7.

I agree about CHT. I would be locking him into 6 for the rest of the season, provided nothing drastic happens (touch wood).
LM had the preseason last year and our pack was dominant for majority of games. Our attack was clunky for a huge percentage of the time. The results masked the underlying issues a fair amount.

This time last season we had 3 wins, 2 losses, bye 98 for, 118 against. This year 4 wins 2 losses, 194 for, 118 against - our attack has improved significantly and defence slightly which is exactly what we needed from last season

I was not on the Boyd train at all at the beginning of this season but I can't remember a warriors side being this dominant in a group of wins. Our wins are averaging around 40 for and 18 against or something like that.

CHT interview after the game- 'we stayed connected'

Our two losses we looked very disconnected.

Boyd is going to have some average games but he is a true 7 and his organizing of the team is very good.

Boyd and CHT need to be the halves combo until form and results require a change. Unfortunately i fear Cuddle s has shown his hand already.

Need to be #ruthless

After all the years, this one was so enjoyable. To see the boys defend like their lives depended on it those last 25 mins made my old heart skip a few beats! DV, CHT, RTS, TB, ....OK, the whole team were standouts!
In observing the Storm, I reckon they've been undermined this year due to the focus on PTB 6 agains. Their entire history has been based on slowing down the opposition ruck, any way you can and playing the odds with the ref that they will get away with more then they get pulled up for. Ans, at least they get to re-set their defence. To some extent they tried it last night too but got found out more often. They were unsure after those calls how to move forward. Their game plan needed to change (as in the previous losing games) and they weren't (aren't) prepared. You can see this years successful teams really trying not to get into a battle with the ref, Wah's included. Get off, get outa there and get back. Well done boys!

That young back rower Cooper Clarke is good. His try was massive brushing off Marata with ease (not Maratas strong point I know). Carrying Tanah all the way. And getting through the cover defence to score. Then he offloaded with defenders hanging off him, which led to Howarth's try.

But I loved how Demi smashed him and they both got up with big fat smiles.

Just watched the game and have to apologise for being a doubter. I should know better, I wonder what the trigger is?

What a statement. I can't recall a team getting bashed around like the Storm did in that game. Every tackle was made with power and intensity except for Marata who can't tackle to save himself. Poor old Tanah was a passenger after Marata dropped off the tackle for the first Storm try.

Re the Ford try, after a couple of looks I think Meany's knee (was it him?) sliding into the tackle actually propelled Ford's arm forward and across the line.

Thought AKP went well, looked really nervous initially but got into his work and was busy off the ball, as was Ali which was refreshing

Another thing I noticed across the team (purely on subjective body language) is that Taine is seen as a bit of a Talisman. Might be a looking after the little fulla arrangement.

Could guarantee the Storm changing room would be black and blue after that beating and it wouldn't only be Bellamy's language.

Demi, MoM for me.

Well done and restores the faith.

To me this speaks of play style limitation. There were connections there with specific players with Metcalf, but they were specific to supporting his run game.

Boyd and CHT pair up a lot better than Metcalf and CHT did, too.

I crap on a lot about playstyles and synergy all that, because it’s important. If you know what the guys next to you are going to do at all times, you can plan better on how to break lines and achieve the flow required to pull off damaging plays.

It’s a lot easier to then defend if you’re confident you have a good chance to score when you get the ball back.

In my mind the best time to do this is preseason/early in the season.

Of course, I could be totally full of shit, too.

Still get the feeling we’re after a big body like him for exactly the purpose of how he got his try, too big to handle close to the line like we had with AFB. Vaimauga was epic but just doesn’t quite have the size to burst through as a couple of occasions showed

There is an argument for both types of player. Dallin and Marata and Ali all scored on Clarke's edge. So yes he is a massive unit and an attacking weapon but even with our players who wouldn't all be high rated in NRL 2K27 we can destroy teams based on our defence first earn it type attack.

To me this is the exact purpose of our pursuit of players like NAS to use in this manner. If Bishop Neal progresses quickly and shows he can handle the contact of big units, he could be the one?

No mate you are pretty much right 😉
The games we have lost this year our forwards have been dominated by the opposition. Ford and Leka were less effective in those games I thought

At halftime I was surprised we were ahead but conflicted about being confident.

After Dallins seconds try I was cautiously optimistic.

At Tanah's last penalty kick I wanted fifty.
At 12-2 I was saying keep the foot on the throat and smash them and they scored next so my attitude shifted to a win is enough. As others have said that old memories die hard but as we pulled away I wanted more and more as consolation of years of bad memories at the hands of these c u next Tuesdays. One of Voss’s calls I’ve enjoyed in recent times and a great line was Warriors are looking to inflict years of revenge in one night or words to the effect
