Subject: Cease and Desist – Defamatory Statements Regarding Hodges Agency
Dear
@Defence ,
I am writing regarding a defamatory post recently published on
nzwarriors.com which stated or implied that I “cannot be trusted” in my role as a licensed NRL player agent and director of
Hodges Agency.
This statement is:
- False and defamatory – It directly attacks my professional integrity without any factual basis.
- Damaging – Such comments have the potential to erode trust with current and prospective NRL players, undermining years of professional reputation building.
- Actionable – Defamation is a serious matter under Australian law. I reserve all rights to pursue legal remedies, including damages and injunctive relief.
As a direct consequence of this behaviour, it should also be noted that
individuals engaging in defamatory conduct against Hodges Agency may find it more difficult to secure representation or player signings through our agency. Professional relationships are built on trust, and undermining that trust has repercussions.
Accordingly, I demand that you:
- Immediately remove the defamatory content from nzwarriors.com.
- Provide written confirmation within 7 days that the material has been removed and that no further defamatory statements will be published.
- Cease and desist from any further publication of false, misleading, or disparaging remarks regarding me or Hodges Agency.
Failure to comply will leave me with no choice but to escalate this matter formally through legal channels.
I strongly urge you to treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants.
Sincerely,
Chris Hodges
Director –
Hodges Agency
