Made his professional debut for the Cowboys in 1999. Spent 5 seasons with them before being released in 2003. Had played only 30 games by that time. Same year he would play International league for Italy.
Paul Dezolt was signed to the Warriors for the clubs shortest contract of 6 months. He made his Warriors debut against his former team the Cowboys and would go on to play 2 more games before being released by the Warriors 16 days before his contract expired.
Dezolt would return to the Queensland Cup, joining the Easts Tigers. He returned home in 2006 and was part of the Herbert River Crushers side that won the Townsville and District Rugby League title for the first time.
