You make a valid point in a previous post and edit it out then follow it up with a silly one like this. National agreed support to everything labour did so all was done with their blessing
National didn’t support suppressing the Wellington protestors. ACT and NZ First actively went against Labour and visited the protesters.

National backed the govts covid response for unity during a pandemic but constantly said they had no access to the info the govt used for making all their calls and were shut out.

They questioned the vaccine rollout, lockdowns. Border control, MIQ, economic impact etc and are leading a covid review Labour doesn’t want. You cannot say in anyway it was with their blessing 🀣

Most divisive leader in NZ, ever!
I never got this POV, the government at the time only really followed the advice given to them. It was an unprecedented time and I am sure she was (like any world leader) doing the best with the circumstances given to them.
I was very critical of their handling of the last Auckland lockdown though, it was (relatively) proven at that point that COVID was not as bad as first made out and most restrictions were unnecessary.

Perhaps your point about trump getting away with what he does because of democrats being weak stands here? Nationals weak party leader and party gave the country no confidence in them
My comment on the US is about their political system and there is currently no leader of the opposition between elections, not the strength or not, of the current opposition. It’s not that the opposition is weak, it’s that there is no opposition (leader).

It was a US political system issue, that I believe is helping trump. I’m also glad we have our system where the opposition holds the govt to account more (as eventually happened to Ardern).

It’s essentially a competition within the party to establish a leader over there, and often they’re coy about running. Gavin Newsom is establishing himself as the likely candidate I reckon

The reality is that Trump sucks the available media time away from the Dems because he is continually saying things that are are so way out there and it is those comments that the media highlight

The widely circulated Trump critique by Oliver Kornetzke reads:

"Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a barstool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul-all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair.
Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn't but has always been-arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel. It is America's shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn't just lose its soul-it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader."

Is it any wonder the DJT is all across the media if he is regarded as that type of person

Things are moving in America so fast in so many aspects, domestically and abroad. Republicans are polling really bad, makes you wonder if there’s something at play to try and stop midterm elections knowing they are likely to perform badly?
