Seems ridiculous not to hold it on a Saturday? Are there other fixtures held at the stadium then?

Nothing else that weekend.
In the history of Aboriginal vs māori All Stars, there have been 5 Saturdays and 2 Fridays. The only other NZ instance was a Saturday 5.45pm kick off.
Even before that when it was NRL vs World, Saturdays 5x and Fridays 2x

The Newcastle Herald says the Knights will host their first home game in Round 3, with McDonald Jones Stadium set to welcome the Warriors across the Tasman on Saturday 21 March at 5pm NZT
So round 1 home and round 3 away at this point
Good to see the end of the "teams play each other twice in four/five weeks" rubbish we put up with this season.
Wonder when the the schedule for when the players are going to walk out on their current clubs and quit their contracts early will drop?
It's a service I think the players/RLPA owe to the fans so they can book the parties early and get prepared with chip n dip n drink to watch the fun unfold.
My predictions:
After 4 games where he's pretty naff, Kalyn will announce this is his last season as a Knight after Round 4 and will be - after continuing his lack of form - shipped off to a new club by Round 11.
Lachie will walk out on his Bulldogs contract after Round 9.
Latrell will get busted for a very dodgy looking photo the day after Origin 1.
Gus will make nice noises about Jett but will deny everything when the Bulldogs are caught trying to talk Jett out of his contract with us.

No complaints from me in Chch. I'll predict the Mt Smart faithful will be a bit annoyed at such a long stretch between games there mid season though

I liked the little period at the start of the year this season where we had Manly and Roosters at home Friday night.
So, I like the run of Friday night games to start the season before the daylight savings change.
The Cowboys game at the new stadium I'm looking forward. I'm not from Christchurch and won't be going. More to the see the new stadium and likely a full house.
