NRL draw leaks are beginning to drop.

Daily Telegraph reported the below 2 details relevant to us

"The NRL draw is expected to be released late next week" (ie 13th/14th Nov)
Previous draws have often been released on a Thursday

"Details of the pre-season trial matches are slowly coming to light with the Warriors planning to play a trial match in Napier"
Hamilton last year let itself down with undignified behaviour.

And didn't Napier have about ten pitch invasions in 2023? That was pretty embarrassing. More embarrassing is that not one of them was a proper streaker, just clothed and boozed-up clowns with phones.
At least Wellington and Christchurch had no invasions.

I have "heard" somewhere on this forum that Wellington gets a game this season.

The season opener against the Knights in 2023 at the Caketin had a bunch of pitch invaders at the end of the game (maybe during as well, can't remember the timing). I specifically remember one dude in headgear putting some impressive steps on security before being tackled by a ghost, and one guy trying to vault the signage on the sideline and absolutely smashing himself in a spectacular fail that would make OzzyMan proud (aka Destination F*cked 😅 )

I know we never had much success with it, but the Storm v Warriors game was becoming quite an ANZAC tradition.
Beats me while the NRL made the call on/signed off on getting rid of it.
I hope that this Wellington ANZAC game will be against the Raiders and the fixture becomes permanent with the location alternating between Wellington and Canberra. Obviously, I'd rather it was Auckland but I'll take what I can get...
But breath is not being held in that department.

Usual hopes for the draw:
Raiders twice.
Broncos twice.
A weak draw during the Origin period so no-one can use the "Well, of course the Warriors are going to beat the Broncos/Storm, they've got six players out due to Origin!" argument.
A hard final month to get us primed for Finals Football.

Does NRL.com know something about Metcalf's recovery that we don't?:

Friday March 6 - Warriors v Roosters @ Go Media Stadium

The Warriors will have fond memories of last season's clash against the Roosters where they rode the back of an outrageous performance by fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (30 runs for 316 metres, 7 tackle breaks) to get home 14-6 in front of the Wahs faithful at Go Media Stadium. Those same passionate fans will be out in force again to see whether their main man Luke Metcalf can get the points over Daly Cherry-Evans in his first match in Roosters colours after a decorated 352-game career at the Sea Eagles.

I dont think metcalf plays round 1, id say April is more likely.

Barnett should be good though.

Storm lost the ANZAC game due to an unwillingness to share. I would have been happy enough to keep it if it had alternated home/away but it was bullshit having to always play Storm at home and the “occasion” always saw it tipped in their favour- I’m glad we stood up and said ‘no more’
