Can he suddenly bring a step and a deadly offload.
He'd actually be quite valuable if he just did a few extras, he tries his best and can tackle but he's always been very one dimensional similar to Kata.
I tend to agree, he is a handy squad member to have though. Experienced (but average) prop at the lower end of NRL player salaries.

I'm not sure where you got that information, Bunty has not been told he's free to look around too (this time).

Haven’t given up on him but offered the same free to look elsewhere suggestion that Curran was offered sounds to me like the same you won’t be offered anything past your current contract that Curran was told.

It's actually saying it was different to what Curran was told.

Off Contract 2024 below - I wonder whether anyone else has been told they're free to look around?

Curran - gone
Ford - possibly upgraded
Harris - his call
SJ - his call
Kepu - already gone
Lussick - Will depend on other hookers progression
Metcalf - Will try to keep him
Jazz - Probably get a lowball offer and see if he bites.
Tuaupiki - Depends on junior progression.
DWZ - Will try to keep
Berry - First 2mil a year NRL player, and that's after he takes a heavy hometown discount.

Kalani Going has more games starting at hooker across NRL and Cup (1) than Sironen (0) according to rugbyleagueproject. Going's one game was with Slade Griffin as coach.

IIRC Sironen was somewhat made into a hooker over an off-season, so I imagine Going could develop this part of his game in the same way.

This would give a possible bench of
14. Walker
15. Ale/Afoa/Zyon Maiu’u
16. Barnett/New Prop
17. Going
18. CHT

Hope so. That bench looks a lot nicer.

Analysis

After going from the bottom-four to the top-four in the space of 12 months under Andrew Webster, there aren't too many areas that need addressing for the Warriors, who find themselves in a strong position roster-wise. If they need to bolster one area, it might be in the engine room, with the likes of Addin Fonua-Blake and Tohu Harris perhaps needing a little more support.

Options

Braden Hamlin-Uele has been a consistent fixture for the Sharks over a number of years, but remains off-contract heading into November and could be tempted to depart the club. The 28-year-old is originally from Auckland and with the Warriors now a premiership threat, it could be an enticing decision.
Francis Molo has the power game that a club like the Warriors desire, but his current stay at the Dragons hasn't showcased his best football on a consistent basis and Shane Flanagan is unlikely to retain him.
Max King is reliable and would add a point of different to the rest of the middle-forward rotation, with his no-nonsense approach and big-minute output likely something Andrew Webster could look to explore.
Coen Hess is a player who could thrive from a change of scenery and take a back-seat role to some of the higher-profile forwards across the ditch.
Terrell May is a raw talent that would be a welcome addition to the Wahs, with his presence off the bench becoming a vital part of the Roosters' late-season success in 2023.

Finally someone who knows we need a middle and not a centre 😂

wow, he would be a get - suits our game very well too

Only downside is he’s out for the whole pre season with injury but should be ready for round 1 apparently. Sharks certainly have a lot of middle forwards, I’d be happy with him or Royce Hunt. Being that BHU is able to negotiate soon probably puts him more likely than Hunt. He can bring his brother Caleb home with him too.
i'd be frothing at a starting front row of afb bhu and egan, with a beefed up youngster on the bench, backed by positional switched from Harris and Barnett at some point during a game ... that'd be mean as

His off field indiscretion and run in with the law would have also influenced the decision to let him go.

Bring on Demetric!!
It would have put a spotlight on him, at the same time I am certain if he did as he was told and stayed squeaky clean after that appalling incident that he would still be there ahead of some others.

The fact that he had to play cup and Webster kept saying that he has work ons is a reflection of someone that lacks either focus or drive, or has attitude problems.

We all know Curran has a full bag of skills, he can when he is in the right space do forty plus tackles and play eighty minutes, he can hit gaps and score try's, skills wise he is far better equipped than Ford.

Unfortunately fans are bumb hurt that he is leaving with that skill set, leaving whilst we all know he is a much more talented backrower than Ford or Jazz.

If people think that there is some lack on Websters part to see Curran is highly talented then they are delusional, or blinkered to the ability of Webster to measure rugby league players accurately.

But I do not get why Fans ignore the blatant in your face logic in this move, here is a guy with it all, being kept out of first grade, because he has work ons.

Do the maths, use your logic, it is simple really, it took him a quarter of a season to sort his shit out and meet the standards for first grade, those are the facts, and the facts are undeniable.
