Love to know what everyone’s favourite games of the year were.

For me:

1. Shark Park Comeback

Absolute roller coaster of emotions. hard to put into words but I was in absolute disbelief by the end and was well on my way to being convinced that we are a different beast this year.

2. Invading the Raiders

Second half was pure perfection and execution of which the likes I haven’t seen from any team this year. Warriors absorbing all that early pressure at their home ground on such a big occasion and then just absolutely blowing them out of the water like that was so satisfying.

3. Shark Massacre at Mt Smart

A complete outing with a breakout performance from Luke Metcalf and utter domination by the team in every key metric. As much as I had been loving the close games this one was my first real taste of what this team could do on their day against a good opposition when it clicked.

4. Knights Slayed in Finals

Biggest game of the decade and if it wasn’t for the anxiety I would have ranked this higher. Coming off a heavy loss against the panthers I knew we couldn’t do this without SJ. Will he be fit? will he get through the game? What if we lose in straight sets? The knights have won 11/11 and the hottest team in the NRL, Ponga in form. There was just so much to fucking worry about. But ultimately that was all put to ease from the opening 15 mins and I sat back enjoyed a masterclass from SJ but also dreaded every minute he stepped or shimmied.

5. Anzac Day warning shot

I know we lost, but I count this game as a win. We had so much go against us and past history has never been more cruel to the warriors than on Anzac day against the Storm. The scars are deeper for the fans than the players because they came out firing and if it wasn’t for some curled injuries and awful officiating we would have had our first win in Melbourne for as long as I can remember. This game gave me the confidence that we”ll be back and we”ll fuck up this cunts next year.

Some notable mentioned include

SJ winning field goal against raiders and our commanding win over the Eels at their home ground.

What were your favourite games?

Man, how good has this season been where it's a struggle deciding which of our many wins go on the list let alone which one is the best!

I went Anzac Day warning shot. All the rest are awesome and very worthy choices also, but that game was the one where I really felt we had something happening this year. As you say, it was a loss, but it really felt like a win with what it indicated. I think that really put the Warriors in the conversation properly for this season and all the wins on this list reinforced that.

I got Shark park comeback. That one broke the Sharks and that half time talk from Jazz Tevanga basically convinced the players that this is our year, and so it has proved to be true, this has been our year.

Obviously if we win this weekend it will eclipse all and if we won the GF then Shark Park would fall down to third on my rankings.

The thing about Shark Park is that we were down twenty, and we made a mini revival, then went down by twenty again, no NRL team on a rebuild early in the season comes back from the second massive set back on a twenty point deficit.

We get a man sent off, and score a Try with 12 blokes. When Kosi scores he gives Ronaldo shit for giving him shit all game. Those two had a great battle.

Then SJ makes that long range penalty goal to steal the game.

It has been a very long time since the Warriors were the comeback kings of the NRL,. They will need some of that this weekend.

I told my wife at the start of the game when we got run up on that we’re back to being shit. I walked in 80 mins later and said “I think we’re gonna win the comp this year”

Doesn’t get more contrasting then that 😂

I think the Raiders game was when I really started to believe. We had some great moments before that, but to come out and weather that huge storm for the first 20 minutes, then come back and absolutely destroy them in such a big milestone game, in Australia. That was really special.

But the Knights game was even better, so I picked that lol

Hmm. In another thread i picked the knights game as the best game of the season as we were perfect all around but for best "win" of the season I'd give it to the sharks come back. With the knights game after a quarter of the way in I was confident we'll get the job done.
Sharks game was a rollercoaster of emotions and edge of your seat stuff.

I can't believe I was telling my dad about the Warriors stories and games of this season lol, it's like a fairytale, hope they've been secretly doing a documentary movie, it's really a feel good story already
Jackson Thomas alluded to something like that in the interview with Cam George. It was more on the topic of our Covid/Homecoming story. But i have noticed there has been a bit less of their 10-12 min videos in the last month so something is brewing for sure!

Loved the game in the weekend but I went with the Raiders at Gio. 300 games for Crocker, packed stadium and no one giving us a shot. To beat them the way we beat them it was awesome and I wanted to see what Ricky Stuart would say. I think I’ve seen that one game about 10 times.

I was s***ing my pants when Crocker was lining up that shot after their crazy comeback to tie the second game

See we’re blessed this year, those kicks usually go over for dramatic stories

What were your favourite games?

You weren’t impressed with the shut out against the Cows in Townsville??

Boys put on a clinic that day

The knights win. Proving to the doubters that we well and truly deserved a top 4 slot

We’ve had plenty of doubters questioning our legitimacy after our soft run and panthers loss. To destroy an in-form knights at home, in front of a legion of diehards and new fans, was something to behold.

The whole stadium, team and fans, were overjoyed. That was a win to remember

Favourite win would have to be this one - I was there at Shark Park, and was really starting to regret the drive to the Shire, the long line to get in, the weather, listening to Cronulla fans... but then the boys absolutely turned it on. There weren't too many of us Warriors fans there that day, but we were loud given you could hear a pin drop amongst the Sharks fans in the second half. Very much worth it!

Best win has to be Saturday's game though - 80 minute performance in front of the home fans. Gutted to have missed it, but looking forward to the boys backing it up this weekend with another big performance. Win/lose, as long as they dig deep, this season will be an incredible success!

Never in doubt even when Hynes lined up the kick at Cronulla. Never in doubt.

I would have the Round 3 match in Townsville v the Cowboys in your list.

Certainly ahead of games like Eels missing far too many players (e.g. an expected result in my eyes)

That was, for me, the first indication we had something cooking.
